yes, another inspiring olympics story! will they ever go away?? lol
so, Canada's 4x100m relay team were denied a bronze medal after one of the runners stepped out of his lane.
a little boy from New Foundland was very upset by this and so wrote to the team expressing how he thought the rules were wrong and what a pround and enduring nation Canada was. He enclosed a medal he won at a football tournament for them to have instead.
he even wrote at the end 'i i become a biologist, or rich and if i remember, i will donate money to the Summer and Winter Canada olympics.
how sweet is that?? makes your heart go all mushy |

"10 year old boy condones cheating athletes"
I don't think it was cheating. It's bloody hard to pass the baton in a relay, and the GB mens 4 x 100 team was disqualified for the same thing. I felt bad for them.
I think the Canadians accepted their disqualification, but it doesn't mean they did it on purpose. |

"3 others teams managed not to go out of their lane.
Shit happens, things suck but the rules are rules."
they did suck it up but a 10 year old boy felt compassion for a team who made a mistake

The Canadians accepted the disqualification, in the face of their disappointment after years of training, in the spirit of sportsmanship...
They made a genuine mistake and well done to a 10 year old with the compassion of maturity...;-) |
