Ive just been making myself a BLT, the bacon was ready, the bread had the home made rose marie sauce, tomatoes sliced and in place, a squiz of black pepper, feeling happy I went to get the Iceberg kettuce from the fridge .....to discover its a Savoy cabbage. FFS

Years ago ma Dad used to visit a butcher and buy half a pig, which the butcher duly chopped up and put into separate bags. Ma Dad would then sling the lot into our chest freezer.

One Sunday we thought that we were gonna have a lovely roast pork dinner with all the trimmings, the label had fallen off the bag and we had a joint of gammon instead

Slice very thin. Flash fry in really hot fat and for an added dose of heaven, mix with caramelised onions.
