Anyone got any old tips on stain removal on a jumper that’s already been through a wash cycle but it hasn’t got it out. My favourite yellow chilling jumper has grease stains from a Chinese and also bolognese sauce, yes I had it on two days before I washed it

East Sussex

Put brown paper on the grease stains and iron over it. It melts the grease and the paper absorbs it. Hang the jumper on the washing line in direct sun and it will bleach the Bolognese stain out

Put it out on the clothes line over night usually clears tomato stains

Most decent liquid washing detergents will remove grease if applied directly to the stain and gently rubbed in before washing. 'Oxy' type powders are also good at getting them out as is a weak liquid degreaser. It can take more than one attempt to get it all out though. Just be sure to follow the garment's washing instructions and those of the prouct you use.

"How can I remove candle wax from my carpet "

Gently pick/scrape the worst off and then gently soak up the rest using a warm iron and some paper towel or microfibre cloth. If there's any staining a good carpet spot cleaner should remove it.

Worthing

Might be too late if the stain has had time to be washed and/or soaked in but I've removed a lot by immediately dabbing it with cold water.
