I have just been to the opticians. Not only did they charge me hundreds of pounds for glasses they also gave me a trick pair that make me look like a 64 year old woman. If I go to a different opticians do you think they can prescribe a pair that knocks 20 years off?

La la land

I've recently had new ones and I found it difficult to choose new ones wearing a mask. Not entirely sure I love them but at least I can see better

That's what my dad called them when he first got his! Back then I was mortified. These days it's just funny!

Don't buy them. Get the prescription and then order them online.

Loads of places doing spectacles online now.

I hate having to chose new ones...without my glasses I can't see, so have no idea untill I pick them up, what I look like.. and I never trust the assistants as let's face it, has anyone or know anyone, who when trying glasses on, when asked for their opinion the assistant said " oh no they make you look like Deirdre Barlow

Too late I was taken in by the charming young man with the diamond ear stud who assured me the Kylie Minogue frames didn't make me look like ridiculous and the other customers were laughing at an hilarious joke.

My hubby wears glasses, always says he looks younger when he’s not wearing them...not surprised as he can hardly find the mirror let alone see his reflection!

Doesn't always work. I have a complicated prescription so my lenses are always quite expensive. I even looked at Specsavers and they were cheaper if you didn't want varifocals.

I went a few months ago and ended up paying £600+ pounds but the majority of that is for the lenses. I've been wearing glasses since I was 11 so I'm used to choosing frames which suit me while not being able to focus properly.

Last time I went with my wife she was constantly flashing me at every opportunity. Of course it didn't help when I encouraged her by taking pictures.

We still need to post the pictures.

I had lasik eye surgery last week. Everyone is telling me I look younger now I don’t wear glasses. Been searching for new frames on and off for a few months and also sick of the steaming up issue so thought why not just take the plunge. Best thing I ever did, wish I had done it years again!

Thankfully my prescription hasn't altered in three years

That is a good thing because

a) the glasses I have now suit me, and

b) the next strength up is jam jar bottoms

My wife isn't good at behaving in public, not that I discourage her.

We've just posted the pictures on our profile rather than at the opticians. Can you imagine that eye test? "Forget the bottom line, can you see the pussy?!"
