for me it was Take That also,, Gary Barlow to be able to sing such an emotive song after such a tragedy showed strength beyond belief
also every time i see Gemma Gibbons mouth the words 'i love you mum' after she won her silver medal in the womens Judo. |

A lot at the Olympics, the thought that there would be a parent very proud at their children getting those medals and how you could tell how much it meant to the medal winners set me off every time.
Mr Ruggers used to pass me a tissue as soon as the Chariots of fire music started |

I shall tell you a true story about chariots of fire.
My great grandad was a cross country runner, he ran for the birchfield harriers which at the time was the most famous cross country team. He was actually picked to go in the 1924 olympics (thats when its set) but in those days you had to fund yourself and they didnt have the money, so he could of been part of the chariots of fire. There is a bar in a hotel in manchester(if its still there) named after him |

"If the bar's still there Diamond, maybe we should have a Fab social meet there, in his honour.
It's a major shame that he never managed to go to the Olympics!"
I think it was part of a hotel, will have to ask my dad, hes not talked about it for ages, he also had one arm and 23 children(both after his cross country time lol) |

Tv... The last 10 minutes of Nanny McFee gets me every time...
Real life... I took my mother to a Proms in the Park... The orchestra ripped out the Dambusters and a lone Spitfire swooped over again and again, lower and lower... The power of the merlin engine roaring... As the orchestra hammered the final chords, from fortissimo to wheres me ear wax, the Spitfire victory rolled into the sunset...
I caught sight of my mothers face glowing with pride, joy and awash with silent tears... and lost it...
She was one of the Castle Bromwich designers who built Spitfires, 60 years before...;-) |

I got emotional today reading that the woman's shot putter had been disqualified for doping
I thought about the silver medal winner not getting her TRUE moment.
what a shame |
