Having recently purchased my latest bottle of perfume I was wondering what your favourites are and how you wear it?
Do you wear different scents for different moods? How do you decide what scent to wear? Do you spray it liberally or delicately on strategic points?
Today I bought a bottle of Alien, after a friend gave me a sample vial of an Alien copy. Loved it so bought the real stuff.
Do you mind fake variants or do you like the real stuff? I compared it and it does smell very similar but I prefer the real stuff
Today is definitely an Alien day and I'm stanking like a hoohouse boudior |

I've worn the same two perfumes all my adult life! Love them one's for day to day normal stuff and the other's for special occasions only! Don't think I'd ever change them, neither is usual, they suit me and I love them! |

My favourite is Light Blue by D&G.
I can't actually wear many perfumes as a lot give me headaches when I wear them...it tends to only be lighter ones that don't, which is a shame because I'd like a nice rich, musky scent for night time.
I stick to pulse points and a spritz in my hair so that it wafts when I move. |

I don't wear perfume very often, it's a bit like makeup for me.
That being said, I love Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir if I'm at work or YSL's Black Opium/Penhaligon's The Bewitching Yasmine if I'm on a date. I've got quite a few as presents but I tend to fall back on those. |

I like the hot pink and lilac versions of Daisy Dream, Boss Orange, Jimmy Choo and my ultimate favourite is Bottega Veneta Eau De Velours but its pretty pricey. My current daytime perfume is from Zara though and I love it! |

It’s not something I wear everyday and it’s been a while. A favourite is DKNY purple, stopped doing it now but found some stick during lockdown so that will keep me going a while.
Other than that I have various other small bottles that I need to be in the mood for and if they smell appeals that day. If it’s not dkny then I use body shop Smokey musk as my go to |

I used to wear Joe Malone’s Peony Blush and Suede for work, love that scent..
I’ve had many favourites over the years, usually strong perfumes. Carolina Herrera (the first one that came out) and RL Safari in the 90s, I have a thing for Michael Kors too but it doesn’t smell the same as it did back then.
Right now my go to is Dior Rose and Roses... I wear it all the time.
My body chemistry changes I think because perfumes I used to love in the past now smell rank on me lol. |

I love D&G Light Blue which is my go to scent. Sometimes I use Ultraviolet. Can't use the cheaper version as they bring me out in a rash. I spray on my pulse points, behind my knees and a little on my hair x |

When my previous perfume was discontinued I just went to a few different places, explained that I get headaches with a lot of perfumes, and asked them for recommendations. It possibly helped that I know anything with lavender and strong, musky scents are worse, so I know to avoid them. Then I just chose which I liked, asked for a testers, and took them away to try...I had to endure a few headaches but their recommendations were surprisingly good. |

I quite like Issey Miyake - L'eau Dissey Pour Homme (Eau De Toilette).
I've learnt through trial & error that Eau De Toilette lasts on the skin longer....
Another favourite is Chanel Pour Monsieur - it's a very subtle fragrance. She would have to nuzzle close to my neck to smell it! |

Very much dictated by mood and also the weather. Summer is often lighter scents than winter.
Favs include
Castile - Penhaligons
Pomegranate noir or English pear and freesia - Jo Malone
White patchouli or neroli portofino - Tom Ford

No you can't - after a while your nose will become 'scent blind" and you won't be able to fully appreciate them.
Plus each fragrance smells different as it reacts with skin so what works on a test stick may not work on a person. |

One mistake often made is when you apply fragrance to a pulse point and then you rub your wrists together. This action destroys the structure of the fragrance and doesn't allow it to work naturally.
Let your body heat do its work . It will bring out the best in a fragrance. |

I like most perfumes that come in purple or black bottles, deep sexy scents.
I like to use the body lotion if it smells the same, then you don't need as much perfume.
Just ran out of my last expensive one... Sad times. So I'll probably get one of Nexts, they smell like the high end stuff. |

Prob not what you are wanting or expecting to hear, but the scent of perfume is intriguing. Showing my age, bu in the 70's there was a Mary Quant perfume called Havoc. If I was in a club/disco at the time, I could pick up the scent and would make a beeline for it. 40 years on I still have some (hand-written) letters from en ex-girlfriend. And guess what? I can still smell the scent of Havoc.

Indeed it does! But I'm just wondering if it was just my individual sense of smell that attracted a woman, or a very clever marketing tool?

Well, can't comment on that but from my own perspective I buy scents because I like them not because of the marketing. |

I'm watching this & making notes lol. I am very unsure of perfumes & wary of wasting money on something I don't like. I should grow a pair & go into boots & pretend I'm buying for a girlfriend rather than for me lol! Sometimes I get a waft of a gorgeous perfume off ladies I walk past & would love to be brave enough to ask what it is but I'm too shy & never do incase I get a bad reaction. |

I also like Penhaligon’s Ellenisia- that was my username in some forums for a while but I find it too sickly sweet now. Elizabethan Rose’s formula has changed and now it smells rank...
What are people’s opinions on Tom Ford’s perfumes? I’d like to buy one but mever tried them! |
