Only going by Harry's latest podcast I really admire him for his belief in breaking the cycle ... Different parenting . Go boy boy ... Break the cycle .. but his children may be as rebellious as he has been portrayed .

Or they may be happier outside the firm.

I think there's a lot to be said for breaking the cycle.

His children might well be rebellious but I don't think he is. I think he's just had the guts to do what he feels is best for him and his family.

Whatever he does he will be criticised.

There is so much I do not understand and will never understand. But as long as him and his family are happy that is all that counts.

I am confused at how they wanted privacy yet seem to be talking to the media a hell of a lot, yes I get it’s on there term rather than the media’s terms but surly if you left the royal family you’d want peace and to live a “normal” life

Did his great uncle go to the press when he abducted? I know times were different then but gets me thinking

Times were very different then, that's exactly the point Prince Harry is making and the cycle he's trying to break. Edward the 8th abdicated because it was felt he couldn't be monarch if he married a divorced American woman. We have moved on a bit in that Prince Charles will succeed to the throne despite marrying a divorcee but royalty is still hide bound by rules and tradition.

The royal family seem to be viewed as property rather than people in their own right. Observed, commented on, criticised. It must be awful. Yet it they break away they will still never escape it.

I don't see anything wrong in taking control of your own privacy. We all do it on here and all expect other people to respect the level of privacy we set for ourselves. Why would he be any different.

Doesn't Harry feel that Charles deserves privacy about his style of parenting ?

Good point.

I think that shop sailed long ago.

They want publicity on their terms and why is that wrong? Why should they accept photographers camping out at the bottom of their garden in the hope of snapping a personal moment to sell to the tabloids? Why should they accept constant intrusions into their lives. Why can't they simply say 'this is what we want to talk about and this is when and where we want to talk about it'?

"Why do people care?"

For the same reasons they care about anybody in the public eye. They're interested and possibly are experiencing similar issues.

"Why do people care?"

Maybe they have an interest as they contributed towards the £2.4 million for renovating Frogmore Cottage and £32 million for the wedding.

I get that, it's just my republican ways and my disinterest in celeb culture means that I find it hard to understand the interest in this particular couple.
