Been a Liverpool fan most my life, but as that team in west Manchester put out a lesser squad for Leicester, tonight it’s their first team, with a CV lot of the first team injured still.

Tonight I’m afraid we will lose, and do will any chance of champions league qualifying

I'm gonna keep my spirit alive, we've got a game in hand. I reckon we'll win 2-1 tonight. I'm being optimistic about getting champions league next year.

It's ok to protest but needs to be peaceful. Liverpool and Manchester United players are not to blame it's the owners,so just let them get on with the game. Then when supporters are aloud don't go

The ground was a shambles..some fire chief did a report afterwards and said it was utterly decrepit.

Its no excuse for what happened but something like that had been coming for years..there were riots here up and down the country every week here in the 80s(Birmingham v millwall for eg)

And wilful ignorance is blaming Liverpool fans for Hillsborough, it's wrong and has been proven in law to have not been the fans fault..

I’m hoping a forum mod will come in and close this down. A thread like this turning to talk about hillsborough is just tasteless. As a Liverpool fan for 40 years I’m just going to watch the game. I love banter with united fans they’re still my mates. We never mention hillsborough/Munich as that’s a line crossed.Liverpool v juventus was about violent fans,Liverpool v forest was not

And I stand by saying Liverpool fans being the common denominator at both those disasters. The 70s and 80s were disgraceful times for the game. United ran havoc up and down the country during our division 2 year...

"Blocked the coach and slashed the wheels

Just dock them the points and give us 3.

Like they did with Liverpool when they smashed city's coach up a couple of years ago..... Short memory speaking on behalf of a team and its fans that got English clubs banned from Europe for ten years10?

Utd played in eyrope in 91.

My maths isnt great but 86 to 91 isnt 10.

It was 5 and lpool did an additional year. love how people dig up the past to win arguments and are completely wrong

How am I wrong? didn’t say you was wrong I was pointing out the fact it wasn’t 10 years as said ^^

Ah fair do's

didn’t it come out after the incident that the ground itself wasn’t up to standard and was falling to bits hence the wall collapse?

The ground was a shambles..some fire chief did a report afterwards and said it was utterly decrepit.

Its no excuse for what happened but something like that had been coming for years..there were riots here up and down the country every week here in the 80s(Birmingham v millwall for eg)

My apologies 5 years ban for all English football in Europe.... Five years of lost revenue for all our clubs all because of a stadium that was in decline. Give yer head a wobble and take your blinkers off. Heysel,,, Hillsborough....... Ahhh yes let's blame it all on the facilities.... What's the excuse for Smashing team buses?

What has Hillsborough got to do with anything?

Who do you support again? shows the desperation people go to when they bring up hillsborough (shakes head)

Desperation is blaming poor decaying facilities instead of the actions of a mindless set of morons who aren't fans I simply pointed out that had they played in a stadium fit for purpose then perhaps the wall wouldn’t of collapsed but hindsight’s a wonderful thing and I stand by my desperation comment regarding the hillsborouh comment

And I stand by saying Liverpool fans being the common denominator at both those disasters. The 70s and 80s were disgraceful times for the game. United ran havoc up and down the country during our division 2 year... "

ok so Hillsborough was caused by the fans ? Or was it more the fact the police lost control and found it easy to blame them alter statements to suit them it’s simple South Yorkshire constabulary where to blame

Again your wrong, it's in the public record that the fault was not the fans..

There have been other disasters in this and other countries where fans have been crushed to death, it's in the hundreds..

Similarly in Israel two weeks ago a crush killed 45 people and injured scores more..

You need to put away your blind hatred as it's clouding your abilities to look at the truth..

Unless of course your saying that in every disaster over the past hundred plus years it was solely the blame of the fans who died?

Agreed, have seen the bad side from back in the 70s and it's vile and nothing to do with the game..

I honestly don't understand why people hate others because of a team of footballers..

I'll be honest, I didn't read the whole thread.

As soon as the usual nonsense that follows football began to show, I skipped to the end.

Noticed it was still going on and so commented.

Its goes back to tribalism...and that passion sometimes spills over...personally I thought footy was much better when there was that edge to it.Obvs not excusing stabbings etc but the game has been sanitised that much its almost unrecognisable.

Fair play for saying that but I still think you should look at the facts of what happened in Sheffield mate..

It wasn't the first time it had occured at that stadium albeit there were no fatalities..

In some ways it's part of the same issue that there are protestors outside old Trafford now, owners with little regards to the fans especially in the days when they were the main source of revenue..

Passion is often used but rugby and cricket fans are equally passionate, they just don't slash the opposing fans to prove it..

Violence (serious)very ,very rarely happens now.

It was rife in the 80s and thsts why all English clubs were booted out.

English fans had been causing murder in europe since the 70s.

Pretty sad to see all this hate and Hillsborough being mentioned. Coming from a Milwall fan I'm sick of hearing it all every time the footy so called banta declines by bringing up clubs pasts.
