"Happy Eid to all those celebrating xx
Quick question, does it happen more than once a year, and is it a moveable feast, like Easter is?"
Twice a year and the feast is a family banquet |

We have 2 Eids a year (lunar year).
1. Eid Fitr
- the one following Ramadan (month of fasting)
- the one we are celebrating today
.2 Eid Adh
- in about 2 months time (lunar) after Eid Fitr.
Compulsory fasting is whole month of Ramadan (29 or 30 days), from before sunrise (imsak) to sunset
(scratching the surface description). |
