Like most Web based social platforms, is easy for people to hind behind a screen to administer abuse.

Just block and report anything you find offensive.

Give those threads a wide birth then.

You don’t have to be involved in every thread.

When I first started in the forum I splurged my posts across all sorts of threads because it was all new. I joined in quite heavily with the 'popularity' type threads and after awhile got some responses.

I stopped on them as I got bored with writing the same things to the same people and reading the same things.

Now I pick and choose the threads/posts I respond to and very occasionally throw in a 'I'm in' to a 'popularity' thread but that's it.

If you enjoy a thread and enjoy posting 'I fancy you' type things then do it without the expectation of anything in return. And if you do get something back then that's a bonus.

Also. I avoided your “unpopular” threads as I didn’t find them very inclusive. I’d seen someone get slated for commenting on there. Even though it looked like a laugh on the thread I didn’t because I thought will I be classed as too popular because I post a lot? So in my book that isn’t that pleasant either x

Any thread you feel isn't for you, don't read it.

You will always have a clicky group of people. It's always been the way on here and it's the same elsewhere.

Why belong to a group that has no interest in you? Other people will be interest in you so find them.

I can tell you from my experience some of the women on here started a hate campaign on Facebook/WhatsApp group to stop others meeting me because of my outspoken views.

Be yourself, stick to your guns, don't chase, stand up be a man.

There are two ways of dealing with it.

Quietly seethe and make voodoo dolls or just gently let it wash over you like rainwater.

I go for the quietly seethe option because I’m a mardy mare, but seriously, don’t let it get you down.

As I said on another thread, you may not get mentioned on any thread, but it does not mean that you go unnoticed.

There are threads that are always going to be like that, it’s how the forums are and some people enjoy the sense of being perceived as popular, so they persist.

If you’re not of the body beautiful or the type of person that draws attention (not that there’s anything wrong with being so), then I’d recommend that you avoid those threads and look for those that are more likely to garner more attention for you.

We all have a choice on SM to avoid the aspects that can be injurious to our mental health, whether we do or not is up to us.

It’s great if everyone looks out for each other but it’s no ones responsibility to post or not post threads according to a persons ego.

It’s nice to be noticed but there’s only so many times that you can repeat futile actions before you just need to change behaviours

It’s all about the banter.

Take a page from my book. I go into every conversation with no expectations, then I’m never disappointed. Someone ignores me? I expected that. Someone doesn’t mention me? Expected that too.

And if your name is mentioned? BOOM! You still get the feel good moment.

Here is the thing.

The vast majority of the time you won't be alone in that. The popularity threads are just one big circle jerk, that is what they are by nature. And you will actually be in the majority of not being mentioned or messaged or flirted with. It happens to all of us (well most of us).

You either go in to them and expect the very outcome that you get from them now (largely ignored) to avoid disappointment, so when that random moment comes along you do get a mention.

Or you just avoid going in to them because you can not fully accept that the outcome won't be in your favour.

It is pretty much what I do when I'm feeling like I can be bothered. Pop in, make a comment to be seen then forget about it.

Leave the worry of the popularity game back in high school and teenage years. Embrace the outsider life and let everyone else go about the fickle popularity competition. Life is so much better when you are not craving for the attention of others, regardless of who they are.

Just an observation Op from your previous threads but you seem pretty insecure so probably best to avoid the threads that make you feel like shit. Try and concentrate on the threads that you do like and stop highlighting the fact that you think you aren't "popular", be more positive and less negative and things might improve?

You have to accept that any woman posting in these type of threads your on about will be jumped upon because guys are desperate to be noticed.

It's a false inflated position for a lot of these women or they would be pulling left or and centre in the real world and have no need for fabs.

That's the reality of it, soon as many of them log off they go into depression or are lonely so they need men telling them how lovely they are.

So that's why you see so many look at me or threads aimed by men to name women they want to fuck.

It's a game for women to boost they egos.

There were a lot of people that didn’t post on the threads... so the mystery is you could be on theirs...

I personally didn’t make a list because I like a lot of people and I’d hate for someone to feel they were left out.

Keep positive OP and anyone else that feels like that.

There and to the left a bit

To summarise OP, like most things Fab related, take it seriously and to heart and it'll sting - take it with a pinch of salt and see it for what it is and any sting is removed.

The nature of the site is such that "popularity" is perceived by many to be the be all and end all - truth is it's not, far from it - many of the "popular" are only perceived to be by their forum presence and the fact they are all over threads day and night so spring to mind more immediately than the who just quietly go about their business posting when they see things that interest them - doesn't necessarily mean those people are more popular though, just more visible.

I don’t read or join those threads I have little interest in playing popularity games.

I’ve been a member of various forums in the past from running to motorcycling forums. They always had a clique of some kind and as I was quite active my voice (comments) were heard and replied to.

I think when you're feeling low is the worst time to post on those sorts of threads as you're relying on other people to pick you up and end up feeling worse when it doesn't happen. I've done it in the past for the secret service threads and it's not a nice feeling at all. You are entitled to express any opinion you like OP. If you want to moan, then moan.

The forums are popularity contests and there is nothing wrong with that because it represents life.

Attractive people get more attention. On here, in the pub, in the club, in school ect.

The problem is that we get to see the attention others get.

So we feel insecure and unwanted by comparison. It's why Facebook is so toxic. It makes you feel like shit because you see how good other people have it. All the time. In your face.

But it's also not reality. Behind a lot of confident photos of a perfect body is someone insecure who needs the validation. We don't see the insecurity or the fear. We only see the unattainable.

I am strongly considering deleting our account because its not making me feel good. I deleted twitter, Facebook and every other social app for the same reason.

And again ... it's not because I'm not getting attention or that the people here are not great. Its because I'm comparing apples and oranges and it doesn't make me feel good.

People having a pop at the OP because he's feeling shit about a type of thread doesn't help. It's not that everyone is butt hurt or anything like that.

It's just a normal human emotion and a little bit of empathy goes a long way

"You have to accept that any woman posting in these type of threads your on about will be jumped upon because guys are desperate to be noticed.

"

Where are you getting your information from?

I'm fat and middle-aged, and I get interest away from Fab.

Some like it, some don't.

A bit like some like anal sex and others don't.

You just have to accept its thing and not let it bother you.

I don't like certain types of threads but sometimes I comment on them in a way to show to my stance or view on them without being arsey.

I think it’s a natural thing as far as SM goes to compare ourselves to other people in different ways - how attractive we are, how fulfilled our life is etc etc. It’s great to get positives strokes but getting no response or negative responses can quickly drag us down but that doesn’t make us an unattractive, unsuccessful or a bad person. I’m sure many others like myself have spent a lot more time on social media during the lockdowns - especially living on my own. I’ve got a lot out of SM at times just by having some contact with other people but when I find myself being drawn into a negative view of myself I take a break and get out into the real world for a bit. After all these Forums are just snapshots of people, of ideas etc. The problem often lies in the importance we attach to them when they are only a tiny part of a much bigger world.

I love the fabathons because I end up perving on people I may never have looked at normally because they're out of my area or age range or whatever.

Always up for a perv

I do agree though, I don't look at the threads that aren't likely to interest me.

The joy of the forum - none of the threads are mandatory!

"You are entitled to express any opinion you like OP.

I do get where you're coming from.

I steer clear from the "best" threads because if the natural progression of it is "big boobs are the best" for example, it can make me feel like I'm "less than" or lacking.

But, a lot of that really does come from how I'm feeling mentally and I know it's me being self destructive heading into those threads when I'm feeling low.

The word best gives a totally different vibe to me than "favourite" or "preferred", yet the second 2 are in fact what they really mean most of the time.

I think for the most part people have been quite sympathetic/empathetic - agreeing with the OP, explaining their views, not shutting him down. Quite a few posters on here respond to the post not the poster but maybe that's my confirmation bias coming out.

"I think the responses would be very different had one of fab royalty mooted the point. "

Why? It's been a rather balanced thread.

There has been both empathy, and also constructive advice.

Just because people are not falling over themselves to overwhelmingly agree or cushion the op from bad vibes does not enforce the idea of "fab royalty" and that responses would be largely different. Yes, in the case of "fab royalty" you would certainly get posts supporting them from their friends, but the majority of responses would mirror this thread exactly.

I think that people make judgement calls on whether a persons response is justified or not based on the subject and the wording of it.

It can then snowball according to the initial posts.

To be honest though, neither this or your thread have been responded to negatively in my view, but that’s my opinion

"Sorry have to say this, it's a public forum with a wide ranging plethora of personalities, but ppl.plz give your heads a wobble, if your passed over or ignored by ppl you don't even know, will more than likely never meet, what does it. In the grand scheme of things, right here right now your all OK, its meant to be fun not toxic, I've been guilty of being toxic on here towards one, but gave my head a wobble...famous saying springs to mind ' LOVE FOR ALL, HATRED FOR NONE'..

But sometimes its not easy for people too bust give there heads a wobble

If there is a detrimental effect to ppl using the forums, then they need to look at the use of them, when the pain of not changing becomes greater than the pain of change itself, then it'll change "

And i agree, but it takes time! The op is still trying to figure it out and get answers to his questions!

If his self esteem is being knocked and feels disheartened then change has to take place, im not knocking or attacking him, it's evident that being over looked, ignored on certain threads, is having a knock on effect
