It’s not.
Taking the guidance as a green light to meet random folks for sex is a wild interpretation.
Doing so is still dangerous and still putting others in danger.
If you can’t go to the cinema or go for a drink unless distanced, why would you think that it’s ok to meet for sex?

Idiots.
I've seen too much death and devastation this past year to rush back out there just for a random fuck. I cant believe the amount of selfish people there are (in fact, I can) who are willing to take the piss. |

Are you aware that each of those people had to be tested, monitored and those events were scientifically studied?
It’s not time to meet people outside of socially distanced guidelines yet.
If you’re in doubt, then go and hug a doctor, see what they say |

Ffs. It isn't a green light, close contact is for family members, not some random FAF.
The rule of 6 and social distancing rules will still apply for none family and people not in your social bubble |

At every step of the pandemic some people have tried to twist every change of the rules to fit their own selfish desires. Perhaps if they hadn't done so we all wouldn't have had to live with restrictions for quite so long.
Threads like this I find helpful because they bring these people to the fore and I can add them to the list of people i never want to meet. |

Your wrong sorry ! The first UFC event had 15000 people none where checked and masks wasn’t a requirement ! If your referring to the dance events I’m not sure so I can’t comment
and how do you mean they where monitored?
Not been sarcastic I was surprised to see the video of the dance event I’m
Curious how they made that 100% safe

"Your allowed to cuddle
Cautiously. Cautious cuddling sounds a bit naff really. "
Not really. It means you can have physical contact with family that you've not seen or had the healing of a hug from for a long time.
Cuddling isn't a euphemism for 'strange goings on ' at the tube station. |

Was the UFC event in the US? If so, it’s got nothing to do with UK guidance.
The dance events had specialists in crowd flow, group dynamics, social behaviours, transmission, virology, etc, all watching on video link.
Also the attendees are all being traced post event to see the after effects.
It was a test event, a scientific study |

As in it wasn't a free for all. As in everything was recorded. As in it was a trial.
As in it was a case study to see the what's, where's, implications, effects etc etc etc. And guess what? The effects of any case or trial need a time frame to find the results. That's the bit we are in now. The waiting.

Sweet.
Just goes to show tho how easily things could go from hope to hell. If everyone did the same as you and thought that way without listening to the accompanying message with the images they saw, we could be set back months. And there will be others that have done so and got the "fuck its" and gone out mixing prematurely, that's a given. So that means we need to do what we can to hopefully counterbalance the numpties. |

Basically what it means is this.... I can hug my son whom I've not seen since feb 2020 and he's allowed to stay overnight.
That's what I'm taking from it anyway.
Shame I'll be starting back at work that day and he's currently working full time plus overtime so it ain't happening anyway. Roll on October when we've both got time off to see each other. |

It’s time to get back to business !
That statement is annoying as it’s fun we’re all after and using business doesn’t sound much like fun !
Also like everyone is saying it is a bit early to jump the gun ! I think the sign of it’s time to get back to having fun is when the clubs get the green light to open up ! |

“this means you can have sex with someone outside of your household or support bubble”
Have they got it wrong?

I just read that too. I think they are still expecting people to use common sense. Meaning a trusted FWB would be okay but maybe not a string of random strangers? |

It wasn’t meant like that at all ! Im just sick of this mundane day to day boredom!
and I understand it’s a topic that’s going to throw out strong opinions I should of thought before I spoke !

I agree (have had lots more messages from men since Friday who seem to think the green light is real). However as we have all been encouraged to use Covid 19 self tests now and they are free maybe it is feasible to meet someone on a regular basis using the tests? |

The official government line is:
"Guidance for close contact between friends and family will be updated, with people exercising their own personal judgement in line with the risks."
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/further-easing-of-covid-restrictions-confirmed-for-17-may
I take that to mean they want people to make their own informed decisions based on an understanding of the risks. |

They are pulling back from dictating what you may and may not do and leaving the choice to us, within certain limits of numbers and encouraging responsible behaviour. |

The key point is responsible behaviour.
If you take that as meaning ‘meeting strangers for sex’ when others read ‘you can hug granny again’ then I wonder about your concept of responsible.
If your response to mine is along the lines of ‘sheep’ then don’t bother |

Again, can’t agree more. People are going to do what they want regardless of government guidelines. The press has plenty examples of this over the last 18 months, what with protests and just general fuckwittery by people who couldn’t care less.
