Was watching T4 this morning before work (I'm down with the kids me ya know )
The lads were interviewing Paloma Faith about her latest single which she explained was about a busker she met when she was a teenager.
She was out in Leicester Square with her mates and she saw the busker, who was totally beautiful and she went over and started singing with him.
After half an hour or so, she said she'd love to see him again and where could she find him and he told her he was there every day.
She went back the next day and the 10 days after that but he was never there.
He dangles in her memory as this vision of 'beautiful' and 'perfect' because she only had that half an hour of him and never got to see the 'ugly' side of him to spoil her vision.
It did make me think of here and some of the veri's you read, the conclusions they reach purely on what are often merely sexual exchanges.
I also wondered how different they might be if we did spend more than snatched moments with the people we meet.
I know it doesn't apply to everybody with the whole social thing, some people becoming and remaining friends etc, but there are still users here who do use the site at it's most base level and then write all singing and dancing character references based on what is essentially a snatched moment in time. |

Well said, have learnt that from experience recently. We met wot we thought was a lovely couple, gave them a good veri, but met them again at a party, they were rude, ignorant and generally not nice people. |

I think thats nice to have a snatched moment of perfection sometimes though
Leaves you with great memories and you don't have to worry about how long it would have taken for them to smash the illusion |
