Secret hideaway in the pennines

Does there come a time when you realise a dream may be so far out of reach, that you give up, accept that its actually a step too far out of you grasp, or do you unrealistically hold on to it and endeavour to turn your dream into reality.

Up North

When the world leaves you feeling blue

You can count on me. I will be there for you

When it seems all your hopes and dreams

Are a million miles away. I will re-assure you

We've got to all stick together

Good friends are there for each other

Never ever forget

That I've got you and you've got me

So, reach for the stars

Climb every mountain higher

Reach for the stars

Follow your heart's desire

Reach for the stars

And when that rainbow's shining over you

That's when your dreams will all come true

Love this song.

Keep reaching always. You never know what you can achieve if you never try

I did

Although on the flip side, I held a dream that was so far out there, I chased and I chased an unrealistic dream, and I managed to achieve it.

Just because you have a dream doesn't mean it's achievable. When you've done all you can to realise your dream and it hasn't happened I would say it's time to refocus. Not give up but more accept that it may not happen.

Having received news that I did a while ago I realised that time is to short to hold back. Because of circumstances, my dream will never become a reality so I don't chase it anymore x

One dream I have had for years is to one day transform my body to athletic level and run the london marathon and also get my purchasing degree. Not at the same time, that would be silly.

It’s depends what it is , something within your control to make happen , then just out of reach is where it should be. Something way out of reach or completely outside your control (like living in hope for ex) isn’t really a dream it’s a fantasy you should give up quickly

On a mooch

Park it, file it and you never know it might just happen one day, but try not to dwell on it if you really think it is unachievable.

Not exactly my situation but the reason for questioning if I pursue that dream

I think this very much depends on the dream and the real/perceived obstacles to achieving it. If your dream is to achieve a solo unsupported kite ski across Antarctica and then you have an accident and are left paralysed from the neck down then yes, it seems sensible to adjust your dreams.

If your dream is to find your soul mate and gain peace and happiness together with them but you've been unsuccessful so far then no, I don't think you should give up on your dream. In a situation like this I think if at first you don't succeed, figure out what is stopping you (and this is likely something about yourself) and try and try again.

Never give up, even with your last breath, never stop chasing your dream.

Never stop dreaming.
