Fab seems to have a fair quantity of Disney like pixies with profiles, these photo apps look stupid and are so obvious. Ladies please be natural or just use normal make up, I'm sure any reasonable mature man will appreciate natural looks more and could you imagine reaching the point when you actually have to send a proper photo and you suddenly age by 20 years. Natural or light make up is a winner, it's not Love Island after all. |

"Do you mean filters? "
Possibly, being old school filters to me are turning a photo darker, sharper, monochrome etc but not removing 20 years off your age and looking like the like Tinkerbell. |

Ok
To be honest I hate all the Snapchat/insta filters that make you look like a bear or a dog.
I can't agree with the makeup comment though. I like full on make up |

Well to be honest if make up was always done as well as your eyes then bring it on, it can easily be overdone though, or maybe I'm just jealous not being able to improve on naturally worn and rugged. |

Maybe the filters add a bit of anonymity to public face pics?
Maybe avoid profiles that have those pics on? As its that persons choice to use pics like that.
I suppose pics are a minefield on here, in terms of confidence to post a truly reflective image, some use ancient pics, some use other peoples pics, some use filters. |

I agree. It’s so obvious. Most female faces I’ve seen on fab have them. It’s easy to tell!
Don’t see the point personally. I think it’s a bit deceitful to be honest if you’re going to meet someone. |

I haven't used a filter on any of my face pics but I do like turning body shot black and white or doing a colour pop. A friend of mine sometimes does a cool background for me. But that's as far it goes other than cropping a pic to cut my face out etc. |

I’ve added some filters to my photos but non to my videos. I’d hate someone see me in real life and not recognise me as I’m too manufactured. I try to be honest but will take a photo from my best side |

"It’s weird because it’s basically socially acceptable to just catfish guts now with these filters.
I’ve met people that look nothing like their pictures. Like I couldn’t even recognise them."
Me too. Met a woman where I could just about see the resemblance! It’s ridiculous. I don’t mean the colour filters I mean the ones that change your face and make it all smooth and shiny and look about 20 years younger!and make your eyes not even look real! My kids did mine on that Snapchat thing and I looked bloody amazing! |

Whilst I am in agreement with you regarding filters, its not up to someone to tell others how to be.
Regarding make up, it’s my face and I’ll put what I like on it |

Oh yeah make up is different. I don’t even pop to the shop without make up on. That’s totally different to changing your face on filters or adding makeup through filters. |

We use photos at work for our email accounts and organisation charts, and the amount of so called professional folk who use these ridiculous filtered photos is unreal!
Ive seen you at 7am Susan with your sweaty head and hair strewn all over from a blustery walk to work, and you are not THAT attractive |

Or... And please understand I know how outrageous and bizarre this is going to sound.... Just let women ware whatever makeup they want because it has absolutely nothing to do with you (crazy idea I know)... And if you see a filter and don't like a filter then just... Don't message the person? I know it's madness |

Filters can be subtle
There are pictures on here that have changed the colour, tone etc .. they make a lot of difference to how a person looks in the harsh light of day.
As for makeup some of the TV / TS makeup is amazing!
I need a tutorial I can barely use mascara

If you don’t like filters, the simple solution is to not message any profiles that use them. If they’re as obvious as you say, it’ll be easy for you to spot them and avoid.
But I’d love to know what makes you think you can dictate what ANY woman, never mind a complete stranger who quite possibly doesn’t even want a message from you, puts on her face. |

If my post came across like that I apologise, I merely meant in a positive way that it's not really needed to be attractive but at the same time agree it is an art form to do it good, I didn't mean it to sound like I was against make up, I am against the silly app. |

Same at my work!! They complain of being busy but spend a lot of time uploading new fuzzy pouty face pics to the work systems! |

Ohhh dear, it seems a few have taken my comments out of context, I am far from trying to say you shouldn't wear make up, I said you don't need to, contrary to the app thing that I think is just ridiculous. I would not throw stones from this glass house I live in by any means, I'm a live and let live kind of person but occasionally observe something I like to get another perspective on and the forum produces. |

If it makes people feel good about themselves, then let them crack on.
Now, I'm off to find a filter that will remove my crows feet and make me look 20 years younger |

"I don't have Snapchat or use filters myself, but I don't mind what other people do with their profiles.
"
Me neither in general. But I do mind if I’ve planned to meet them and they are nothing like their pics. I definitely mind then. |

We haven’t taken them out of context, we can see the context. By way of a reminder, you said
" Ladies please be natural or just use normal make up"
And
"Natural or light make up is a winner, it's not Love Island after all."
Which very definitely comes across as telling women what to do. |

I have some pictures on here with filters when it's an overcast day or winter. But there is a mixture current avatar has none. If I send a face picture it will be unflteted more often than not minus make up.
And if I've taken a good picture of my face and then see a bit of mascara on my eye lid, then yeah I will remove it via an app.
Let people do what they want with their own profile. Use it as a filtering tool |

I'm reading this as you mean the beauty filter which smooths skin/wrinkles and makes people look younger, rather than the Snapchat dog ears ones...and I'm with Nora on this, I do think it's deceitful if those are the only pictures being sent to someone that you're looking to meet.
I find the Snapchat ones infantile, but it's obvious that people aren't going to turn up with dog ears...whereas I often wonder how many people have been taken aback when meeting someone in the flesh and they look a lot different to their pictures because of the beauty filter.
I don't really care what anyone else does on their profile, but if I was looking to meet and they didn't send at least one unfiltered picture then that would be the end of that...I don't want to meet anyone that's trying to deceive me from the outset. |
