Which band have you seen that should have made it big but didn't
Back in the 80s a band called little Angel's, I saw them as a support to bon jovi at milton keynes bowl.
Had a couple of albums, only achieved 10 top 40 chart hits.
The lead singer then went on to front the band Gun |

Not anymore, he's in Wayward Sons now. I listen to him (Toby Jepson) present on Planet Rock. I saw them (Little Angels) a few times, I'm sure I saw them at Milton Keynes too actually.
I've seen Gun too, before Toby Jepson though, when Better Days was their hit.
I saw a band called Faerground Accidents a few times, they were awesome, I wish they'd made it massive |

There's so many factors at play when it comes to music success. Tallent is just one of them. Sometimes it can simply be a factor of good timing or coincident with the right people. To be fair a lot it is simply in the hands of the right people not you or your band. And sometimes it's simply a matter of character flaws within a band that can bring it down or prevent its potential being reached. |

Yes timing and marketing. I often wonder whether some of the "greats" would be so if they started out in a different decade |

There and to the left a bit |
"Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine
Sublimely witty lyrics. Super catchy tunes.
The only living boy in new cross
Is a wrestling Fixed
The Final Comedown
Re-Educting Rita"
Adding to the Carter USM angle...Les Carter's band Abdoujaparov are amazing and yet mostly unheard of and have had three brilliant albums |

The Beat...whilst they did have a fair few chart hits they didn't get the same recognition as the likes of Madness and The Specials but were as good as both of them and possibly had a wider range in terms of styles |

Seen them a couple of times too. Have Radical Your Lover on 12' picture disc somewhere and their album signed when then all came to Bradford HMV. Agreed, great band! |

80s matchbox b-line disaster
The Caesars
Trust company
So many bands that were amazing live, but just never got the hype or radio play to get noticed.
I worked at HMV through the 2000s so I think I bought just about every 1 album wonder there was! |

A local band (to me) in the early to mid 00's that went by the name of My Girl Sleeps. Made one album that never got released. Brilliant to see live. Should have made it but no longer together. |

The Pretty Things should have been massive in the sixties, proper bad boys.
Ultravox pre Midge Ure were so ahead of the curve in the seventies especially with Systems Of Romance.
Likewise Dr Feelgood at the opposite end of the musical spectrum.
The Cocteau Twins in the eighties for Liz Frasers lush voice.
Longpigs and Gene in the nineties.

"XTC
" Good call. Were very big for a while anyway but when they stopped touring that didn't help, and their sound/lyrical content moved away from the early new wave stuff at a time when the whole SAW garbage was becoming dominant. |

Agree on 'original' Ultravox... although John Foxx did some great solo stuff.
