Anyone else here get surprised by how far "the south" is on profiles?
As a proper south cost boy, I grew up correctly knowing that the North / South divide was what the Thames was built for, but according to Fab, Banbury is apparently in the south east, rather than "Basically Scotland" in my book. |

I grew up in Staffordshire, lived in Yorkshire for a while anything south from Coventryish is increasingly southern and anywhere north of Chesterfield is North.

Essex born and did some travelling with ice hockey.
In my head Watford gap is the "yes, back in the south so not long now til we're home" border and hitting Sheffield when travelling up was "fuck me we're heading to nose bleed territory we're so high" border. |

For me it was the Sheffield as well, the coolling towers for the big power station? When we used to drive home from Sunderland. Once i saw those towers i knew i was nearly homee |
