One of my partners is ginger and I think his hair colour is gorgeous! It's like a very light brown with flecks of bright copper. The handsome devil.
His pubes are indeed ginger and I bought him an engraved lighter with a pun about them because I'm weird like that . |

"I really don't get the whole hair colour prejudice thing? How did it actually start? Anyone knows ? "
There was an old sailor's superstition that red heads were bad luck, especially if you see one on the way to the ship.
I suspect it all stems from before genetics was well understood. The gene responsible for red hair is recessive so if both parents don't have red hair but carry the gene, they have a 1/4 chance of having a ginger child. If you have 2 or 3 kids with blonde hair then a ginger one turns up, it would look like that child had a different father, with all the social stigma that would have accompanied it. |

I've read it's because it's association with Celtic nations especially Irish. And to when there was a predominance of "no Irish" signs. |

It’s more complex than that. Iirc there’s something like 3 genes involved and a complex relationship with blonde.
I have some of them, but not all. |

I'm still not allowed to cross the threshold of my elderly relatives on New year's Day as it'll bring bad luck. It's now more of a running joke though |
