Is a spot anything to worry about?

So I have a spot or at least I think it is that’s forming on my jawline. Only there isn’t a head, yet it’s forming like others have in the past. Warmth in an area of skin, a slight pain and eventually a spot appears mint.

Except unlike others there is no head on this one yet and it feels about the size of half a grape under the skin. Would this alarm you?

If it gets worse I will goto the walk in after work tomorrow, just wondered if anyone has had this before?

Portsmouth

Might be an ingrown hair, cyst, boil.

Pop into your nearest pharmacy, they'll advise.

In the middle

I would usually dab a little tea tree oil on a spot especially if it’s what I call a “blind spot”, it helps with the swelling and infection in the pore, orrrrrr you could dab it with some warm water to encourage the head

Why would you go to a walk in centre? Put something drying on it like tea tree oil/toothpaste/aftershave etc.

Maybe a warm compress to draw it out.

Is this your first ever spot?

If you feel the need to come on a forum and ask for advice i would assume that you must have reason to be bothered by it.

I think the pharmacy idea is good advice the chainsaw idea probably not the best, maybe a call to your gp tomorrow might be advisable. Ps self diagnosis via internet is not wise.

I think it's likely to be nothing to worry about, I would dissolve some salt in hot water and apply with cotton wool

Stoke

If I were you, I would have it checked asap. It may be nothing but it may be something. And it can just appear out of the blue. Shortly before covid19, I also discovered a spot near my temple. During the lockdowns and up until I got my first covid vaccine I had been very anxious. From less visible it grew to more visible and darker. It looked very much like malignant melanoma (most dangerous form of skin cancer). A few weeks after my first vaccine I decided to face the music and consult a dermatologist. Luckily it was not anything malignant. But in retrospective, I should have checked it earlier. Cause if it was... Yours, it is some kind it growth below the skin right? Have it checked, for peace of mind. Good luck.
