Everyone goes on about Shawshank but how many people have seen it more than 5 times?

Your favourite film is one you can and have watches over and over again and can pretty much screen it in your head.

Lost count on shawshank. Possibly watched full metal 4 times. Die hard 3 or 4. One film I do like even though its very old and not one you'd expect a guy to admit is My Fair Lady.

Yes. I've watched films that have had such a strong impact I've deliberately avoided re-watching them to preserve that first impression. And there's junk that I've watched dozens of times on TV.

That is possibly true but some people would say if you consider it a favorite then you would have watched it more than once. I didn't start the post for people to say what's right and wrong so let's keep it just to films and no politics

Totally agree.. I've seen shawshank more times than I've had a wank, but even if I'd have only seen it once, would still be the greatest film ever (to me). No CGI, no special effects, no explosions, no 150mph car chases through rush hour New York traffic in cars with 27 gears. Nothing, but superb story telling.

It’s a public forum, you can’t control what people say, threads don’t stay uniform they go off on tangents, that’s what makes them interesting, it’s caused a discussion and Is it politics to disagree with someone as to what qualifies as someone’s favourite film, I don’t think it is.

Newry Down

Jubal (1956)

An empathic cowboy befriends a religious group who then assist him in his hour of need. He eventually gets the girl!

Witness (1985)

The barn raising scenes epitomise what can be achieved by acting cooperatively with others.

The Day of the Jackal (73)

A masterpiece in timing planning precision and the utilisation of opportunity

The Long Memory (1952)

Injustice is eventually undone, when two societal rejects cooperate to meet each others need to belong

Bullitt (1968)

A highly complex plot is unravelled through persistence tenacity intuition and intelligence; and Miss Bisset is waiting in bed when Steve arrives home.
