What to wear in clubs
Jump to: Newest in thread
It's been a long time since I went to any clubs, but I'm planning to visit some (hopefully) soon. My dilemma is that I'm not the biggest lingerie fan, and I have absolutely no idea what to wear.
The more I think about it, the more I'm overthinking and ruling every option out...corsets you can't move in when it comes to sexy time, bodysuits you just have annoying flappy bits when you unpop them at the crotch, babydolls aren't flattering on my body shape, I prefer to keep my tummy covered so not keen on just bra and knickers, I'm not keen on wearing hold-ups so a suspender belt or straps attached to something else are a must for proper stockings
Help!
Ladies - what do you wear when dressing down at a club?
Gents - what do you like to see ladies wearing?
Any advice and recommendations for good places to shop greatly appreciated |

hiya im not much help, as i love wearing my lingerie when im dressing down.
but there are lots of different options, maybe you could have a 'try on' day at home, and put on all your different bits and see what YOU feel most comfortable in, as that's the most important thing?
i have friends that go completely starkers, others that don lingerie like myself, bra and knickers, one of those long fluffy-trimmed robes with nothing underneath, little lacey nightdresses.
if you search on the swinging clubs forum, i expect there would be answers to similar questions that you could get ideas from too?

"What about a basque as they're easier to move in than a corset?
Or like a lingerie dress? Like a sheer/lace/fishnet dress?
A nice robe over a bra and knickers?
A bra and a skirt? "
I have seen some nice basques, but I know from the past that my boobs don't tend to fit in them I might order some to try.
I'm liking the robe idea though |

"I find clothes so restrictive at clubs, I bought some shift dresses specifically for clubs but usually I just wrap my towel around me
"
A towel sounds like an appealing and much easier option right now |

A nice dress, classy..leaving something to the the imagination.
Lace is a turn on for me, especially lacey dresses or body suits.
Corsets pushing boobs to your chin, anything Fishnet, leather, shiney pvc type stuff puts me off |

I have a couple I got from the same brands that I get bras from in order to get a good fit. They cost a pretty penny but they've lasted me years. One has detachable straps and I fibd it far more comfortable than any strapless bra because the weight is supported by your whole torso instead of just a band around the chest so that's an extra bonus . |

I usually start in a pretty lingerie set but very quickly end up with just the towel wrapped around me
My last club visit in January 2020 my lingerie stayed on but I did feel really comfortable in it |

Yeah, I think I'll save the corsets and pvc for burlesque
I'm going to have a good look for dresses though...I wasn't sure if they were something that anybody wore at clubs or if everyone just wore lingerie |

Which brands are your favourite? I struggle to find decent fitting bras so that's good info anyway |

I'm pretty sure I'll be the same once I'm there...it's not as if I'm the shy retiring type

At the moment I'm obsessed with Curvy Kate. Especially their scantily range!
Gossard I also do well from. Playful Promises is good too but I have to be quick as stuff sells out quickly in my size! |

I honestly don't mind all that much as long as they're actually *there*. I've been to events full of guys, and it's no fun. |

Sparkling strawberry is my goto. I love a chemise, as they can stay on all evening. and have easy access. You can also get sexy / lacy dressing gowns. Some people like to unwrap, rather than it all out on the plate, as soon as they get through the door. |

Yep. Went to a particular event towards the end of 2019, and literally no women turned up. The only woman on the premises was one of the owners. Had a nice chat with the people who *were* there, but it wasn't something I'd have left the house for. |

I normally wear lingerie with what is meant to be a beach cover up.
My current favourite is a black almost sheer full length that ties in the middle.
I feel sexy in it but still a bit covered. |

I too am a bit unsure of what to wear, I've never been before but keen to have a go when things reopen. But I've no idea what people wear or how things work, I'm actually quite nervous! Is it ok to go and just observe/have some drinks? Can I stay dressed? Or will I be the only one not dressing down? Ahhhhh! |

To the first bit yes absolutely.
The dress or dress down code depends on the club so best to check the dress code.
Most have lockers so what iv done in the past is wear a nice dress with my lingerie underneath then had a couple of other options so I can change if that feels more comfortable to me. |

Fully naked tends to feel abit cringy unless your having a moment with someone. Nothing worse than a orgy type of feel in a club |

I too hate fancy underwear so just wear matching lace knickers and bra with hold ups, heels and a figure hugging dress. If in a playroom I am always naked. I feel like a Christmas decoration in too many frills and way out of my comfort zone. Always to wear something you feel comfortable in. |

T has got some seriously sexy club outfits from a variety of places, some you can see in our pics. Certainly a few soft basques which give you a little shape, without being constrictive and have clips for stockings.
And they look awesome! |

Yes I am and no is the answer regarding clubs.
Liberation do a night once a month in Portsmouth and one in Bournemouth.
There is a spa in Bournemouth that has play rooms and if you are not sure you feel about being naked or in lingerie in public thats not a bad place to start.
There are a few in Kent and London. |

What I will say is if you go the 1st time at your not sure it's always worth trying again because every club could be a completely different each time depending on whos there and what mood your in. |

I've got a few crotchless bodystockings that can be worn with a sexy Brazilian or something, til you're ready to take them off, which gets around the issue of restrictive lingerie, suspenders etc.
Sheer, semi sheer, or lace dresses are a good option that can be kept on, though leaves you with the stocking dilemma.
My one drawer has turned into 3 over lockdown, so I'm equally not knowing what to wear, now spoilt for choice.

Playful Promises do amazing sets that are beautiful, right now they have 20% off as well (one day I'll work for their marketing team). Sometimes Asos is worth a look for nice lingerie that you wouldn't expect.
I've only been to a few clubs so perhaps I don't have much knowledge but the only thing I'd avoid would be wearing the very popular Ann Summers sets. Like the sheer black with red floral detailing that was popular for a bit. I saw at least six women wearing it last time I was at a club and I was glad I didn't pack mine. |

Any advice and recommendations for good places to shop greatly appreciated
T has got some seriously sexy club outfits from a variety of places, some you can see in our pics. Certainly a few soft basques which give you a little shape, without being constrictive and have clips for stockings.
And they look awesome! "
She certainly has Lots of inspiration there x |

"Playful Promises do amazing sets that are beautiful, right now they have 20% off as well (one day I'll work for their marketing team).
I've never heard of Playful Promises, but I'm off to have a nosey...my bank balance definitely isn't liking this thread
Yeah, I did think that about Ann Summers and Lovehoney...some of their stuff is lovely and I imagine will be popular. Reminds me of a time in my early 20's when I saved up and bought a gorgeous but very distinctive shirt, and the second time I wore it there was someone else in the same nightclub wearing it |

without wanting to hijack the thread too much... I've been wondering the same thing. aiming to get to a club for the first time over the summer, and haven't got a clue what the craic is for blokes.
in my head its basically night out attire, with smart boxers on for later if the evening goes that way..? |

Smart casual for a non dress down club is preferable. Once the dress down comes, most men will have a towel around their waist or strut around in their briefs (me ).
Lily White in a club? Grrr... |

Best bit of advice I was given was not to wear black knickers, as they are hard to find in the dark room afterwards I also pack comfy knickers for the long drive home and a very innocuous t-shirt for the McDs drive through visit that tends to happen! |

Good tip...only downside is that 99.9% of my wardrobe is black |

"I too am a bit unsure of what to wear, I've never been before but keen to have a go when things reopen. But I've no idea what people wear or how things work, I'm actually quite nervous! Is it ok to go and just observe/have some drinks? Can I stay dressed? Or will I be the only one not dressing down? Ahhhhh!"
Absolutely it's ok just to go to observe/socialise. I regularly just socialise if I don't feel like more. As for staying dressed, it depends on the club/event. I've been to some where you can stay fully dressed all night, some where you can in the social areas but have to dress down if you're going into play areas and some where you have to dress down after a certain time. If you know what clubs you're interested in though, if you message the organisers/owners they're usually happy to advise on the rules of each event/night and recommend which is best suited to you depending on your preferences . |

From a gents point of view a mixture of outfits
For me heels, stockings, with like a body stocking top does wonders, or a short dress that wants me to look to see if the lady is wearing any nickers underneath
s a guy I normally have boxers bad a towel |

Not sure if i missed it. A kimono with the hair in a bun with chopsticks through it (keeps hair from getting messy and cutlery for a snack). Geishas have sexy and minimalist for 100's of years.
Probably similar for me bar hair and chopsticks, as towel only real althernative (my dickie don't bow).

Bookmarking this to read later. I was taken to a club once and his advice on what to wear made me stand out and I hated it. Never again.
So if I do again I do not want to stand out. |

I wasn't convinced about bodystockings myself initially but I've seen women of different sizes wearing them and they can be really quite flattering. You've got a good shape - might be worth a try sometime

Why ladies? Ladies going to clubs is a different experience to men going
As for women smelling like swill - thats revolting |

Personally I use them for layering under other outfits. If i feel a bit too naked in something I put a body stocking on underneath. |

I sometimes wear the halter neck black lace dress as in my pics with nothing underneath or a rushed body suit with hold ups or stockings. It has studs ( you know what I mean) underneath but they are easy to undo/redo and I just wear a skirt and belt until it’s time to dress down. I swap skirt and belt for a scarf / sarong wrap... |
