Yes I think you just pop the memory of them away into a mental filing cabinet, they don’t truly disappear. Sometimes something triggers the filing cabinet to pop open and sometimes it stays shut indefinitely.

If that makes sense?

Definitely learn to live with it until you get over her.

I had a partner of 15 years. Would do anything for her. Had children together, she was my world. It ended in nasty circumstances. But weirdly enough, we’ve never stopped being friends or there for each other. Suppose we had to be because of kids.

It’s been 4 years now, I’m not over her but when I see her, I’m not attracted to her and couldn’t see myself being with her any more.

Not that I couldn’t get over but definitely that was very hard to move on from.

Regrets, guilt or lack of closure can make moving on a very difficult task as the urge to revisit it, consider what we’d do differently or answers that we need cannot be resolved. Part of it is trying to ensure that it doesn’t happen again but it can be easier to revisit the past where we know the pain, than to move on into that which we don’t.

I found that making peace with the fact that I couldn’t get answers but took what I could learn from the situation and made a conscious effort to move past that person.

Yes, I still cannot forget my Beautiful Angel, one just has to live with it, or without it as the case maybe, she pops up right out of the blue, there is always something at the back of ones mind that acts as a trigger. No way to stop it that I can think of
