Middlesbrough

Why are the distances so far out on here?. I thought it was supposed to use your phone's GPS. It constantly tells me I am 40 miles away from someone in Leeds, when it is quite obvious that it is about 70 miles from Middlesbrough.

It’s called distortion measurement... depends where you live, like remote area or lots of radio interferences

Maybe they aren't in Leeds?

I don't know of anywhere called "The Boro" when quite obviously you mean Middlesboro.

The postcode you put in, the location you type in and the location on GPS are all different.

30 miles is nothing in the scheme of things if you are prepared to travel.

There is a discrepancy with the distance calculator, I’ve spoke to people before and to says they are 10-15 miles away, and when we’ve spoken, they are 30-40.

Wonder if somebody is logged in via VPN - does that make a difference?

Distance is as crow flies rather than travel distance.

If they are online it usually shows roughly the right distance. If the arnt online it usually goes back to their location with the post code they gave. Well I think it does

Who's near works if someone is online, about 30 minutes after they go offline it reverts to their postcode
