East Mids

I’ve just come up to bed, saw a medium sized spider on my ceiling above my bed. I’ve named him ‘Herbert’. He fell off and landed on my face, ran down my arm and across the bed .... thus was a great opportunity to take a pic or two and send to my daughter .... I have told her that Herbert is staying with me in my room until further notice. He is in training. He is to protect clothing, make up and underwear from intruders.

He is only small but I will train him to pounce, rear and spit ....

she has been warned !

Are you spider friendly ?

I’ve literally just done a status update about spiders. I’m scared daft of them. I run away screaming with my arms in the air at just the sight of them!

How can you tell he's happy? Is there a look of contentment in several of his eyes?

He waves one of his remaining limbs now and again. He could be making rude gestures but I prefer to think of it as a greeting

I like spiders and as I live in an older house I get the big ones come to visit around September. They are always welcome although I do not wish to share my bed with them.

Trade you. Wolf spiders are the devil reincarnated. Brush them out the door and 500 babies scatter off the backs of them.

Spiders walk over your face while your sleeping, dragging their Willie's over your face......

I apologize to spiders. I can hear them say, " why did you do that?", when I disturb their little spider hovels. It's a form of Pascales' wager when the giant spider invasion arrives.

I like spiders that don't want to bite me like false widows do so they go splat

I apologise to all bugs if I do something accidentally. But I like spiders. They’re welcome to live peacefully in our house (no biting, nose breakdancing, or attacking allowed).

My daughter, she’s the one screaming “mum there’s a spider” and refusing to go in the room.

I might not be so comfortable with them if I lived in the US or Oz however.

I have a couple who live in the corner of my bedroom, they are allowed, but only if they STAY.UP.THERE.

They are the spindly legged type, and they eat the fat hairy ones, which is why I allow them.
