For me they are Mark Knopfler, Joe Satriani and Gary Moore. Those guys can deliver the most beatiful sounds from guitar.

Hard to say, so many good players for different reasons.

Gary Moor, good all round

Stevie Ray Vaughn, same

Eric Johnson, a flawed genius

Tommy Emanuel, just amazing style

Mark Knopfler, great fingers ooh err

Chet Atkins, the 1st to make a guitar really sing

I've seen G n R live several times in their heyday and not once was Slash playing the same song as the rest of the band! He was awful!! Love their music but Slash live, no! Could have been the drink or drugs I suppose

This tbh . There is no such thing as the best. There are certainly great ones , influential ones. It depends on who hits the inner cord with you. Pun intended..

SRV is up there for me. But Emanuel is such a unique entertainer too. Plenty or untapped talent on youtube too.

also a good one to youtube... 'tommy emmanuel', and I'd recommend the 'classical gas' video. the guy is like a magician.
