What type of oils are your favourite carrier oils & essential oil fragrances to use in a massage oil blend?
I like ylang ylang, but it isn't everyone's cup of tea. |

Oh. I do like ylang-ylang. I like citrus oils of all kinds. Rosemary and lemon together. Or grapefruit.
Sandalwood is so sensual. Paired with Rose oil even better ! |

Sweet Almond or coconut as a base, essential oils depends on the person and type of massage but one of the most sensual is Neroli but it’s very strong. I also like jasmine, rosemary , eucalyptus, ylang ylang, frankincense and sometimes a bit of eucalyptus |

Grapefruit is great to vapourose in water when you have a lot of work to it keeps you very focussed but I’ve never massaged with it |

Sandalwood is such a gorgeous scent. I find lemongrass makes me feel so relaxed! I know lavender helps a lot of people but lemongrass just knocks me out straight away |

Sandlewood I consider a scent for guys. It isn't a fruity or floral fragrance.
I do have sandlewood essential oil but am wondering what other scent / scents to mix with it to form a nice blend to use on a man.
I find lemongrass or any citrus fragrance energising and not relaxing at all.
It's interesting to read different people react in such opposite ways to me with their sense of smell. |

"Oak Moss mixed with a little Sandalwood is heaven"
Thanks. I will look through my essential oil collection to see if I have Oak moss.
It sounds very earthy and masculine. |

Just be careful re allergies (especially almond oil and nut allergies), some health conditions and medications react badly with certain oils, certain oils are photosensitive or photo toxic with the sun or tanning beds ... what one person likes another might hate etc etc can be tricky, and sometimes dangerous, using essential oils other than on ourselves! |

Thank you for the warning about using nut based carrier oils.
I am aware of this, and use grapeseed oil in general which shouldn't cause any allergic reactions.
It is however a Very valid point and one that many are unaware of. |

I've grapeseed at the moment, though I'm using my oils in the bath currently. I'm finding he rich sweetness of rose and geranium is beautifully countered by the smoky earthyness of patchouli. |

Yes , vaporising oil for decades for health and in baths for treating different illnesses or getting good sleep (lavender) but massaging only maybe 5 years. |

I love the scent of lavender in a pillow spray. It is without a doubt the most relaxing of scents. |
