We’ve had some mild winters that haven’t reduced the population like a good cold one does. As a result they have been breeding exponentially, they’re becoming a bit of a problem just about everywhere. |

I normally see a small mischief of rats when crossing the bridge over the river nearby at night.
They normally scuttle away as they see me approaching, but syndromes just sit and watch.
They don't bother me though, I've got two pet rats. Lovely, intelligent and really clean little things. Taught one of them to play fetch with me recently
I wouldn't go near a wild rat though, same as I wouldn't go near a stray cat or dog. |

"Shoot them!! They are disgusting disease carrying vermin ,
Is that true ,?" yes rats are considered vermin and can spread potentially serious diseases, including Leptospirosis, which can lead to Weil's disease. |

Yes I've seen rats before. My parents house backed onto woodlands and I occasionally saw one there. I was also once stood outside a pub in a quiet side street in Liverpool at night and over the road was a wall that had like ventilation holes in it as the old railway track is the other side and I saw some rats sticking their heads out before going back in. |

Fiction: Mice and rats don’t have bladders and are urinating constantly.
Fact: They have bladders. The misconception lies in the fact they use their urine as a form of communication, which causes them to mark their territory constantly. |

Wrong choice of words on my part, I didn't mean they didn't have bladders and I'll change my words to over urination (causes them to mark their territory constantly) we had fancy rats, which were highly over bred (dumbo eared rats and tailless) the over urination was not pleasant |

A couple of weeks ago saw a rat on it's back in it's death throes, with a small amount of blood coming out of it's mouth. - In a side street, in Coventry City centre.
Not sure what killed it. But to be honest, I thought only flies died on their back |

They might urinate a lot, but have better personal hygiene than cats and dogs and will often clean themselves for a few hours a day.
They are also less like to pass on bacteria, viruses and parasites (such as toxoplasmosis, which caused my mum to born partially sighted) than cats or dogs.
So if you think rats are bad, you'd probably better also stay away from cats and dogs. |

"Don't see many rats round here. I think the foxes eat them. "
They need 3 things. Food, water and cover. If these 3 things are available then the rats will be there. You might not see them but they are there. There is a saying that you are never more than 2 yards from a rat and this will be especially true in a place like London |

No. The rat population is exploding due to mating.
Litter bins ? Do the rats say ..... No fuck off, I'm not fucking you there's a lovely bin to look at ?
Now to do with bins. |

I have a machine that attracts rats and mouse. They poke their heads into a tube and a steel rod powered by co2 smashed through their skull when it's trigged.
The rats even climb on the bodies to get what's up the tube it smells so good to them

You are never far from a rat.
It's a fallacy that it's lack of bins though.
What happens often is that a bin is put out and the residents take their household rubbish and put it in the bin sometimes they take the top of the bin and then put a whole bag in it.
Result binges filled in minutes. Means that someone with a kebab or can or paper goes to bin sees it full then puts their rubbish on the floor. Result rats.

Yep. Always knew there were rats but we started seeing them in the garden in broad daylight, and then they began causing a shit ton of damage.
Traps and poison seems to have taken care of them quite quickly, thankfully, as they had already started breeding. |

They are unbelievable! They can have six litters per year (average 10 to 12 per litter) and reach sexual maturity after 4 to 5 weeks so a pair of rats can easily become 1000 plus rats in 12 months |

The expression "shagging like rabbits" needs renaming to "snagging like rats" . Unfortunately wild rabbits are currently very susceptible to diseases as well as myxomatosis but rats are very hardy and not a lot bothers them apart from a 22 rifle or a damn good terrier (although not more than 1 terrier cus that would be breaking the law) ?? |

Ventilators are so last year Granny, I have signed a contract with BoJo for fresh air. I am supplying the UK with branded oxygen (DDs Delightful Devon Air) slogan being “you feel debonair because you’re breathing Devon air”
I’ll sound him out about FabRats though, good about; I’ll sell it as a “empowering female rats and building self esteem” though. |

You are rarely 2 foot away from a rat. They are being seen more because they aren't feeding from resturants etc
other than household pets or foxes, they have few predators & breed like feck, i'm not surprised tbh. |

I don’t think I’ve seen a rat in years. I did see a fox sniffing about in my garden a couple of days ago, before it gently trotted off.
I kept as still as a statue when I noticed it. Why do we always get a itch whenever we’re trying to stay still?? |

An interesting fact is that a human bite can be more dangerous than that of an animal, as our mouths contain more dangerous bacteria than most animal's.
As such, a bite from a human is much more likely to get infected with something nasty. |
