teacher for me.
glad I didn't as it turns out I'm not great with kids or patience
I was lucky that I managed to work in my other ideal role for a few years, but sadly sacked it off when the money / career wasn't there |

Like you OP, I watch entirely too much top gun.
But realistically I wanted to be an engineer or mechanic, always loved getting oily and building stuff, F1 engineer was the dream. |

Librarian. I used to pretend my bookshelves were full of antique books. I covered them in talc to pretend it was dust. I stuck paper in the front so I could write in the date they were due back after my sister " checked them out". Yeah weird. I know. |

"This may be sad but I never had a dream occupation as a kid, never actually knew what I wanted to be "
Not sad at all mate , I wanted to be all these things but lacked the drive back then. Only in late teens eventually decided what I wanted to do. Cheers for sharing |

I was perplexed by the concept of work and I still am. We should be still picking berries and chilling out, working to pay for a car to get to work in, to pay for a mortgage of a house that’s only yours briefly makes no sense. |

I had a panic attack one night aged 9 because I was worried I'd never be able to hold down a job and end up homeless as an adult. Fortunately I have both a job and a home aged 39. |

That’s some heavy shit for a 9 year old. Glad you’ve proved yourself wrong. |

My eldest son had the same worries at around the same age. He's also on the spectrum like me and has a tendency to overthink, just a tad |
