Although "sauerkraut" is a German word, the dish did not originate in Germany, as fermenting cabbage as Suan cai was already practised back in the days of the building of the Great Wall of China, and the practice was likely transmitted from China to Europe by the Tartars.

And you’ve not picked up on the fact that a mushroom isn’t a vegetable? |

'Kraut' is used in German compound words (sour cabbage) but the usual stand alone word for cabbage is 'kohl', as in the former German Chancellor Helmut Cabbage. |

Yes, I might not look like I do but I do!
Favourite being asparagus or broccoli stalks, or home grown runner beans- so fresh they squeak on your teeth as you eat them! |

I’m pretty much a strict vegetarian, so vegetables are very much a staple for me, along with fish. Or duck. So vegetable’s fish and duck, are very much what I eat. Also cow’s pigs and sheep are very much a staple of my strict vegetarian diet. I say veg, I eat mostly chips and a selection of meats. |

"Love all veg, specially fresh from off my brothers allotment "
I don't know if it is because I spend too much time on fab, but this sentence has some weird sexual connotation to it |
