I saw a thread about the hokey pokey and wandered if anyone remembers the classic and criminally underrated birdie song.

Black Lace did a version of the Birdie Song. It was when they were called Busby and their version was called Birds Dance.

It paved the way for the seminal 'Superman' which (contrary to the thoughts of other forumites) was released on the independent label Flair.

Way back in the 80's we had a week in Magaluf only to find that our town centre hotel was right nest to a bar which played it incessantly well into the early hours. It drove us mad and if I never hear it again it'll be too soon.

This

Black Lace were THE greatest indie/ alternative band of a generation, that’s just one of the basics.

And, as far as I'm aware, the only indie band to appear in the greatest indie film of all time - Rita, Sue and Bob Too.

There's so much more to Black Lace than Agadoo.

Correct, the seminal ‘Gang bang’, their indie Credentials deepen further, truly a band ahead of their time.

City Jeans has already pointed you to 'Gangbang' which has always been a hidden gem but 'I Am The Music Man' is always a dancefloor filler

The whole experience inspired them to write 'Unlos Without You'. They also reworked one of their earlier classics into 'Shaggerdo'

‘Gang bang’ is not for the faint hearted, but it does epitomise their sound in under two and a half minutes.
