Today I have received notification that my job has gone.
Working in the pub trade has been the better part of my life, but thanks to covid and the restrictions, the place I managed will not be reopening.

A few have closed permanently here too, including my favourite which was the quietest (not playing loud music) and the most relaxing one in town.
Pubs and clubs have really got the worst of this pandemic.  |

Ah, that's not good news OP
As an aside, I was wandering back home with some shopping las week and fancied a "swift half" at ma local just down the road. When I went in and asked for a pint, the Barman asked me if I had booked a table. "No" I replied, "Then I can't serve you"....
I wouldn't have minded if the pub had been busy, but there were only about half a dozen people in there (it's a fairly big pub), and there's an outside beer garden/smoking area  |
