In English language, what misuse of words and phrases boil your piddle? Mine are the overuse and inappropriate use of ‘like’ (“he was, like and she was like and, like, I was like”)

Another one is the use of the word ‘so’ at the beginning of a sentence or answer to a question!

Over to you guys & gals!

Dubai & Nottingham

When I’ve been to the seaside with the kids then on the way back they are covered in sand and it’s all over the seats, and then a bit drops down where the gearstick leathers torn, really fucking grinds my gears.....

'literally' - 'So' I was 'like' 'literally' thinking the same thing with these words/phrases

Really annoying.... Also 'init'

Try 'Can I lend that book from you?'

Noooo, but you can borrow it from me though

There's so many others. I try not to let it get to me but it does

I try not to get too bothered about such things, as really language is about conveying meaning, not strict rules, but...

"I would of..." when people mean "I would have..."

This is where I go down in flames

Despite English been my first language my spelling and punctuation leaves a lot to be desired.

I don’t get worked up over semantics. Some people have a vast vocabulary, others not. I don’t judge people on that.

It was an equal opportunities spelling mistake, was on both male and female profiles.

They might have smelt devine but they couldn't spell divine..

Worse still, the most cringeworthy derivative, "Babes".
