"Mayo on sandwiches, salad cream on salad.
Ditto. Although salad cream on egg and tuna sandwiches.
That’s egg or tuna. Not together "
No, no, no. You cannot make egg mayo or tuna mayo with salad cream. Heathen!! |

Mayo please.
Drizzle Mayo over chips and then red sauce the opposite way.... mmmm
Salad cream sandwiches are a thing my wife's people eat ... but they are rural folk so take that for what it is. |

"I like both
Salad cream for pizza
Mayo for everything else
For pizza? Like on it, it dipped in it? "
On it, dipped in it - it doesn't matter - I can't eat pizza without it
Try it - honestly it's the way forward |

"Salad cream on warm pasta shells (must be shells) with tuns and tinned sweetcorn was a staple in my student days "
Me too!! Been known to have a crisp and salad cream sandwich too |

I've just done a quick count up & it's really close - almost Brexit vote territory (but hopefully not as devisive!) with mayo just edging it,
I like them both depending what I'm using it for - but if I had to choose one option for the rest of my life it would be mayo |

Heinz Salad Cream, every time, especially on freshly made potato salad, or a traditional salad with:
Lettuce, sliced tomatoes, boiled eggs, crumbed ham, pickled onions, sliced beetroot, pickles, fresh wheaten bread, potato salad, grated cheese, coleslaw and a sprinkling of Tayto cheese and onion crisps; washed down with a large glass of apple juice that has been chilled. |

I thought that I was the only one who did this, mayo works great on lasagne too. |

"I like Salad Cream with a salad and
mayonnaise with.... nothing.
Well except shop brought sarnies where it keeps them nice and moist. "
But shop Sandwiches have mayo put in to disguise the reduced filling content! |

How much mayo do they put in the sandwiches where you shop?
No one wants a dry sandwich so shops use mayo as it's cheaper and quicker to spread (which also saves money) than butter. |

I take what you mean about using mayo instead of butter or margarine, but some retailers use it to excess to compensate for reduced filling.
I don't like Mayo at all, which makes for an extremely limited choice at most shops. But if asked if they can make a non Mayo version, shop staff look perplexed & don't understand! |

"The only time I have salad cream is to make pink sauce for prawns, I have mayo on salad, fries, tuna etc
Ahh... thousand island dressing, otherwise known as salad cream and ketchup "
Marie Rose sauce
Mayo
Tomato puree
Worcestershire Sauce
Brandy
Lemon juice
Salt
Pepper
Thousand Island has onion, sweet pickle, paprika, no worcestershire sauce in it |

"Mayonnaise with fries.
Like the Dutch.
Isn't it more the Belgians?"
It was in Belgium in the early 1960s that I came across Fries and Mayo, stuck with Mayo ever since. |

"Which do you prefer.....I'm going for salad cream....."
Both are good, probably mayonnaise in the main but salad cream is ideal for certain things.
Has to be good mayonnaise, some cheap stuff is like flavourless slime. |

"Salad cream is nice with fried potato slices.
I'm not really a fan of either though as they don't agree with my stomach.
Salad cream and ketchup make the best sauce for prawn cocktail. "
Definitely, I anyways add a very small amount of chilli too, it brings it to life |

What's wrong
with that?
I put pies in bread too.
Best of all is a chicken and mushroom pie, topped and bottomed with potato waffles, all within a burger bun. That's a proper Scooby snack that is! |

It's called a slappie.
Get your pie, get your bread, slap pie on bread.
Delish! |
