Aversion to picture sharing...

Anyone else have an aversion to picture sharing? I really struggle with picture swapping even if i like the person and they ask for a face pic i clam up and want to hide. I know its not blind date but and people like to see who they're talking to. How does one over come this? Is there an element of cautiousness one should maintain or were all grown up share those pictures?! |

I have no problem showing a face pic once a few messages have been swapped and I’ve decided to keep the conversation going. I can’t stand being asked for more pics tho. I’m here to meet and have fun, not play online and send endless stream of pics to people. Instant turn off for me when more pictures are asked for. |

I never share a face pic. I never send any kind of pic.
I cam after a few chats..... or no chats if I want to meet that day.
I don't meet on the strength of a pic either...

I only share my face photos if we are likely to meet.
There's no need to see what someone looks like if you're just chatting.
I have swapped photos with people I chat with, if cake and scenery counts  |

I wouldn’t engage for any length of time without seeing a face pic and of course I’m happy to share mine . I just don’t want to waste theirs or my time as “face” attraction is really important to me ...

I am cautious with face pictures, I will only share if we have exchanged an actual conversation. People who ask for more pictures is a red flag for me. It's good to be cautious, you have to be sure your pictures fall into the right hands  |

I don’t mind sharing pics, it’s just the face ones that make me cringe. I absolutely hate taking ‘selfies’ and find it hard to look natural and smile. I just feel really self conscious and awkward |

I think it's wise to chat enough to filter out the wank fodder collectors from those who are keen to get to know you and filter you in or out as a person of potential interest as a partner.
As a site supporter feature, you can remove the photos that you add to messages once viewed, so that can be a good feature to protect some privacy, for example. There's nothing private about using pics on the Internet though. |

We have it spelt out on our profile how we choose to do this.
We converse here, things go well, so we take it to phonecall, if we're like minded, then happy to send a face pic via WhatsApp, or Kik, though would rather avoid Kik.

I don't mind sharing mine, if I'm getting on well with someone and I think it could go somewhere.
It's riles me when I get a message out of the blue asking for a face pic, especially when they haven't spoken to me before or attched theirs. |

We send them early on as we don’t see the point in long conversations without knowing there’s an attraction.
We’ve had couples saying they don’t send them unless a meet is arranged - but we won’t arrange a meet without seeing pics so it’s a stalemate and we walk away.
Seeing someone’s face means you get a better connection with them when chatting.
Unless it’s a blindfold meet arranged for C but that’s a different situation all together

I'm clearly not fussed about sharing body photos, but I'm very cautious about who I share my face with.
OP are you nervous about sharing your face in case you're recognized, or is it perhaps a lack of self confidence? X |

If its a totally innocent face picture then I don't see how they can do much with it. Especially if you don't use the same one on other sites so they can't reverse image search or something. You can remove them after they've seen it then they can't really prove anything after that. Even screenshots you can argue to be photoshopped. |

I hate picture sharing and its like getting blood from a stone from me when I was meeting I just had one I could bear to share and hoped it would do. I reckon people always look quite different in person though |

I've never considered not using a face pic... I understand that some people don't want to show a face pic for various reasons, that's why I wouldnt ask to see one till it's offered freely. |

I get annoyed when constantly asked. It’s really hard trying to pretend to be a 29 year old woman without guys expecting candid shots of the same person every two seconds. They’re hard to find on google |

For those with privacy concerns including exchanging photos permanently but are willing to try a secure route, I currently recommend the Telegram app with the following considerations:
1. Here’s a quick ‘How to’ including Secret Chats - https://youtu.be/FQ2rH3KrfcM
2. Upon install, prevent it from accessing all your contacts, or sharing your mobile number. An anonymous alias is sufficient
3. Always use the ‘Secret Chat’ function which enables key features such as:
- Self destruct on messages, videos, images
- Encryption device-to-device, meaning you can delete the chat on BOTH yours and their device
- No content forwarding option
Happy to walk anyone through the features while I’m around but it’s pretty simple if you watch the video above first. |

I’m personally annoyed by the hypocrisy of people who have no pic at all on their profile and put such as ... No pic.. instant block??
Or you start a conversation with a no pic person and the rude reply ... face pic

We only share pics after a few chats or when we feel comfortable. You never really know who you're talking to and a screen shot is pretty easy to do.
I don't like the no pic no chat profiles. Yeah we all look for a physical attraction but I can honestly say someone that maybe I wouldn't be attracted to initially can be more attractive after a few chats and attractive people can get ugly after a few chats too. Personality is a must for us x |
