Too old for Denim Jacket ?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Right then, was on the Friday “let’s talk crap teams call” mentioned I’d ordered a denim jacket and got the piss totally ripped out me........ reliving my youth and all that ( I’m 51) At what age should a guy stop wearing denim or wearing anything that may be slightly in ? ( bought New Balance trainers last week... daren’t mention it) |

Don't ever stop wearing the things you want to.
It's your style and if you like it, buy it and wear with pride.

I hate all these expectations from society of what you should and shouldn't be doing or wearing at a certain age, our lives are so short and we only get to do it once, so wear whatever you want and enjoy yourself |

Wear whatever you want to wear. It's your life. Letting your fashion choices be dictated by small minded random people will just leave you unsatisfied.
I've just started making a denim patch jacket and the process already has me wanting to make several more for different genres of music/niche interests. Plenty of older guys and girls at the festivals I go to wearing denim, not giving a shit, because why should they. Get better friends. |

You need to dress for your age if you want to be taken seriously, We'd all like to be young again but it's inappropriate around young people, Go to a nightclub dressed like that and you'll see what I mean |

As the tams sang Be young, be foolish, be happy
And don't forget that the generation taking the p.ss out of you are the ones that decided that wearing track suit bottoms with white socks and polished black shoes looked smart

I've got several denim jackets including a Levis one I've had years. I wear them and will carry on wearing them.
There aren't any laws about who should wear what...yet!
My aunt God rest her soul, wanted denim jeans all her life. She finally got some when she was about 82 |

Although as I've progressed at seemingly lightening speed through my 60s I have stopped wearing very short dresses, shorts and skirts apart from at home. That's purely because I don't think they look quite right on me any more. |

"As a 63 year old follower of Status Quo for 50 years, it's hard to give up my denim, don't wear the jacket much, but still wear jeans. "
The first thing I thought of was Status Quo.
I actually bought a half denim jacket not long ago. I wear it a couple of times. |

They probably laughed as they are jealous you have confidence to dress how you like.
I bet they all wear the same generic clothes as everyone else and if they were in a busy location they'd be hard to spot.
Wear what makes you happy and confidence. That will make you much more attractive than the actual clothes you wear. |

"Wear what you like unless it’s crocs. Wear those and you immediately exclude yourself from society
Seconded along with double denim!
"
Apparently double denim (done right) is quite a popular in men's fashion right now.
Quite a few celebs rocking it. |
