Good, but I knew the Simon & Garfunkel too long ago for it to be topped for me.

Not for me. It's a bit over the top. It's a gentle, quiet song done unnecessarily aggressively. It loses its contemplative side.

I'm in the same boat.

It's not often I'll prefer a cover, though I may appreciate it.

I really have not taken to Disturbed.

I've seen them live at some point, they were good at what they do, but they just grate on me a little

Didn't know they'd covered it, so just had a listen. Quite like it, like how the vocals get more metal towards the end

‘The sound of silence’

When a man sends out half a dozen of well crafted personalised messages on Fab (without dick pics)!

Can I have the type of silence that drowns out the noise.... if not boobs will suffice

Always. One of the few songs in this world where I believe the cover is better than the source material.

"Love it ... prefer it but my older sister used to torture me with Simon & Garfunkel as a kid! "

Funny enough I was going through my dad's old 45's the other day,and I came across The Sound of Silence, and all else that seemed like crap at the time which you had to listen to, like it or not. We used to call it, "Music to cut your wrists by." No wonder we all ended up with a preference for:-

"A Beautiful Noise."

David Draiman is a beautiful human with a beautiful voice.

I love Simon & Garfunkel but hands down the Disturbed version hits your whole body hard and sends the message more clearly

The Town by The Cross

Never thought it could be bettered but I do prefer Disturbed's version.

Both versions are emotive but stir in different ways ........ the gentle to the powerful.
