"Thank god I don't mix with people who shop there. Sounds like a minger thing. "
For some people I suppose it's affordable, and they need to feed their families. I doubt that makes them a minger? |

As far as I know, I have Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and M&S within 10 minutes of me, either walking or driving. I call each one The Supermarket and visit whichever is most convenient at that time although I must say, I will make a special trip to Waitrose for their double cream!! It is heavenly!!! Tesco has the worst double cream of the lot. Utterly tasteless. In case you’re interested. |

"No idea we call ours Fortnum and mason.
My dear chap. I do believe it’s “Fortnum’s.”
Actually its just Nums"
My good lady, I bet to differ. It is Fortnum’s or, on an especially lazy day, Fort’s. |

"All you shop snobs.
A Pot Noodle is a Pot Noodle whether it's from The Asda or The Waitrose "
Maybe you get a personalised silver spoon to stir it with from The Waitrose. |

It’s certain products. For items that are available in any shop, I’ll go to whichever I happen to be passing. It’s the ones that are own brand or fruits, etc. I think M&S has good quality fruits and Waitrose has a good selection. Sainsbury’s has a nice location and Tesco is huge. That type of thing. |

I’ve never been to Asda. There isn’t one near me and I never seem to see one wherever I go. |

Is he Batman, or The Batman? Are they Who, or The Who (Roger Daltrey and his mates)? Rolling Stones or The Rolling Stones? Beatles or The Beatles?
On the other hand, he's definitely Superman, not The Superman. Certainly Black Sabbath, not The Black Sabbath. Nobody would say The Manchester United, they would just say Manchester United...

Actually I normally say “I’m off down th’asda” cause I’m northern and don’t know how to talk like a proper Englishman |

I habe a love hate relationship with La Asda, it’s by far the cheapest/best value of them all, but fruit and veg has such short use by dates I have to go most days, and they’re closing the bakery |

We mean colloquially, it’s called Fortnum’s
Like Eton College is Eton
Oxford University is Oxford
Rolls Royce is Rolls. |
