The winning ticket

Having bought a lottery ticket from my friendly local shop, I told them if I won a nice little amount I'd give them a bung, which I meant.

I'd love to be able to help ease the financial pressure for someone.

How great would that be...an unexpected win fall!

Just wondering...if you won the lottery would you give the shop where you bought the ticket a gesture of good will?

The guy I spoke to said he'd been told it before but, I got the impression he didn't believe them!

I don’t play the lottery.

For the purposes of this thread let’s just assume that I do.

I would not give anything to anyone.

It’s mine.

All mine.

my nanny won the lottery jackpot in 2004, and the little village shop where she bought her ticket, put a sticker thing on the floor at the counter that said 'a millionaire stood here'

the lady who owned the shop was her friend, and i know she went out with them for celebratory drinks.. But I was a bairn then so I don't know if she did owt else.

I don't do it often but I'd like to spread the joy should I ever win!

Oh Sam don't be such a meanie

Honestly no, not in a horrible way but I'd rather give to those closest to me. Taking financial pressure away from my mom would be my first priority

A small gesture for the cashier who sold it to me unless I used a machine and then no I don't really see the point of tipping the store

I wouldn't tip the store...just the cashier. Unless, it just a small local business.

Most gas stations in my area are run by foreign people (no offense to them) and only one has local ppl working at it.

I wonder how many new friends we'd suddenly have if we won the lottery

But..yes, me too.

I have often said it but didn't know if others did.

It's nice to see that people would

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

After the usual help friends and family out, I'd support local musicians and singer-songwriters who do the open mic and small events scene, usually for free or a couple of beers, by opening a dedicated music-orientated pub and paying all musicians a decent fee to perform. I would also include rehearsal and recording space, too.
