Yep but it was on Channel 5 not BBC so I think we can ignore it |

I don't know who he is but, considering the amount of people who will attend his funeral, I would have thought his close family should take priority, regardless of skin colour.
It's a funeral, not a political or social demonstration of unity or to advance a political or social agenda.
Someone has died, they can only have so many people attend, let them process their grief instead of making it something else. |

But doesn't anything to do with the Royals have political/social overtones? It is an institution after all and part of the social/political landacape in the UK. |

Prince Philip was a man of white European descent. The Covid rules restrict attendance to his immediate close family so it's likely they will also be white. Had a "normal" funeral been permitted, people from across the Commonwealth would have been invited, therefore people of all races. I think this is a non issue. |

Was it an attempt to suggest that Meghan had either decided not to come or been told she isn't welcome?
As said above, only 30 people can attend, he was a 99 year old man from a largely white European family I don't know why the question was even asked unless we I said it was to open a discussion about Meghan |

I've never watched his channel 5 programme. I did used to listen to him on radio 2 but found he was so bias, (BBC bias?) that I gave up. Is his TV show not set out to shock? |

It was probably antagonistic on the part of the interviewer but I quite like seeing them squirm so I don't have a problem with it |

I'm avoiding the news a bit. Feels awful that there's all the crap scandal shit in the tabloids. Just let them grieve. |

"Typical Vine, stirring up trouble where there's none.

Is it woke? It seems a lot of people say stupid things and these often get labelled as woke.
Ive often thought the real 'wokes' are outlets like the Daily Mail which is in a constant _renzy of being upset about something.

From watching the video , a few times. I may be wrong , but he seemed to be suggesting that perhaps ? Meghan Markle was not attending. Then her place should be taken by a non caucasion? Not another member of Royal family. |

Don't think the cameras etc should be anywhere near such an occasion, and whilst no doubt some will say they're on the public purse etc there are some things such as this that are no one business but the family's.. |

I agree used to listen to him daily while out in the van. Now go nowhere near any of the bbc radio channels or news reports. You only had to watch the corona daily briefings to see how much the bbc missreported what was said less that 5 minuted earlier ( in the headlines scrolling at thr bottom of the screen) |

Guess some people are demanding a quota.... A pink one a white one and black one a Greek one... Shame that a personal small funeral can't be respected and is dragged into an ism debate. |

But they are not just a family but an institution. This is not just a family occasion but a state occasion. And as head of the Commonwealth and Head of State of more nations than just the UK shouldn't those people be given a chance to watch it as well. |

It is a state occasion, because it will be a state funeral.
That said, covid rules regarding funerals have to be followed. Which means close family and no more than 30 in attendance. Vine is fully aware of that, ffs sake he's had enough guests ramming it down our throats on radio 2 for the last year. He's a complete knobhead that dosn't even listen to the answers he is given on his own radio show. Maybe he should do a course in journalism and spend less time on all the BBC PC courses instead. |
