After a couple off months away from the gym it is time to try and get back into shape, it’s a lot off hard work, I wonder if you girls appreciate my efforts ?? I have noticed the women at work don’t look me over so much since I lost some of my muscle mass

It’s a good point and probably bang on the money, been a couple off women at work one got divorced then went on a fitness craze period, till she found a new man then put the weight back on, another women has always looked great for a women in her 40’s been like that for the last 10 years, she got married a year ago and now she is about six stone heavier :-$ their not looking at the big picture, getting a man is stage 1 then stage two is keeping your self looking good enough that he doesn’t run off with some sexy little think.

To the OP, I've been away from the gym much longer than 2 months so am feeling particularly blobby. Back tomorrow, and I'll be starting swimming again soon! I just want to feel better about myself though, not attract men like Mr Grumpy here.

See I'm the opposite....I can eat enough just not exercise. Maybe we should train each other. I'll encourage you to eat and you force me to go to the gym haha

haha.i can do the eating,its just so bloody expensive these days.i eat a lot but the amount you need when lifting is crazy

look at it like there are 168 hours in the week.all you need to do is go for 4 or 5 hours out of that

doesnt seem so much then

the talk of food is making me hungry again

Matter of diet and exercise and mental stuff - it s a shame how quickly you can loose it and how relatively hard it is to get it back. Could you find a partner to go with you? I sometimes train alone, when I feel like "me time" and then typically I d do weights. Other times when I feel sociable I enjoy kickboxing and stuff

The gym is only one hour of your workout. But it is the remaining 23 hours that count the most.

If you got that under control..you'd see results in no time.

I have made the decision to enter bodybuilding competitions when iv got there..so the hard work starts now!

Some times I train with a mate but we are not always on the same shift pattern, I actually enjoy it but after a long break after a bit of whiplash in a car crash I have just got out off the habit of going, I am looking at new Gyms maybe a change of scenery will get me back into it

Well as you can see tell from my body. I am a regular gym attender, never out of it, morning, noon and night. Its hard work keeping this toned athletic body in tip top condition

Not that i was perving, but you gotta give credit where its due. Your back muscles look good, lats are getting there..keep doing what your doing, and let me know your workout routine, i might try it out

Thanks I would like to say my back muscles are still looking that good, but I have let things slip a bit :-$ I have given my self the hard job off getting it all back when I find a new Gym that I like the look off. As for my training I don’t think I do anything special on my back just the same stuff I see the other guys doing, I enjoy the back and shoulders workout so I maybe spent a bit more time doing them than I do on other parts off my body

I'm a total fitness addict! Do 2-3 classes a night, 6 nights a week and love it!! Advise anyone to start working out! I don't work out cos I hate my body, I workout cos I love it! Eat clean, train dirty is my motto

dont forget deadlifts,go heavy,they a very good exercise.add in a few t bar rows.

i hit the gym as often as poss but no matter how hard i train or how heavy the weights are i can not get ripped like i wana! ive changed my diet now but wen im in the gym i have no enegy!

Try protein shakes after the weight sessions and look at your carb intake if you have no energy. Probably best to chat to the trainer at your local gym?

Good advice given earlier have a protein drink after a training session, I always do as my diet is that of a typical single guy all fast food or out the freezer, so not likely to get the protein out off that rubbish lol,

Don't try and increase mass and get ripped at the same time.to increase in size you need calories.get your size then go low carb.especially no bread.you will feel lathargic but that's how all body builders will feel pre contest.

Don't get drawn into all the supplements you see advertised.there is only 1 type that works and you won't buy it in shops.they don't tell you all the pro's are jabbing big amounts in the adverts.

I find it really does work for me, it does not bulk me out but it repairs muscle fibres.

They used to make my lips go funny and so thick with the mix ratio I struggled to get them down

getting ripped is in diet and conditioning not just throwing weights around in the gym. lots of people use the "ripped" word in different contexts

if you wanna be ripped ur looking at 10 to sub 10% bodyfat. if you wanna get some size on you you do it dirty or clean

dirty bulking will get ur weight up fast but chances are you`ll be adding a good amount of BF which is why people bulk and then cut.

Or you can do it the harder and longer route. Eating clean and adding lean mass/muscle. you need to get ur diet nailed to do it this way

Not really.

I saw plenty of men who you'd run a mile from in commercial gyms. Some guys in the hardcore gyms are just as bad, if not worse.

Gym where I go to has guys dropping their kegs in public in front of the mirror and admiring themselves and others.

All the while I am trying to do squats and not barf in their general direction.

Easy way to drive men into the gyms is too put a picture of Darkthoughts outside the gym and say "if you want this,join this" we would all sign up

I've not been to a gym for nearly over two years, used to love my weights but now I do kettlebells,sprints and body weight exercises but it's each too there own

The key is the 6 small meals and personally I wouldn't touch any protein drinks , the stuff they put in them, check it out online , it's not regulatted at all , get your protein from food , peanut butter and the likes , alot of athletes and MMA fighters are veggies and they get all there protein from food but like I said its each to there own and you have to find what works for you .

its mind over matter, remember why your doing it..if you do have protein shakes, try NO-Xplode, that opens up your bloody vessels...but high in caffeine though, well i guess thats where the energy comes from

im takin myofusion and jack 3d n it works really well! the probyotics is strawberry and cream flavour n its nice! had stuff b4 that tasts like cardbord! n i aint goin to start "jabbin up" thats wank n i regulary out lift much bigger blokes in the gym, says they are on the roids!
