Company of wolves is one messed up film but good lol !!!
Who dares wins is a good film especially the final sequence ( bit dated now though )
Also Layer cake and Sexy beast are another 2 great films |

Glad some of you like Company of Wolves - I love the mysterious, darker flickerings, allegorical as well as the more blatant incredibly well produced and acted films. Is it more of a film for the feminine? |

28 Days Later, very haunting, and creepy when it's all abandoned..... Or so you think.
Also would of said 28 weeks later but that's got Americans in that mainly so not sure if can class it as British.

Wonderful! Queenie is one of my favourite characters - don't know if you know, but it is suggested that Lennon and McCartney based the track 'She's leaving home' on Sgt Peppers on the character of Queenie after seeing the film one rainy afternoon. It's repeated quite often on C4 and Film4 and it's a genuine British classic from the tail end of WW2.

Long good Friday Vs Get Carter
Trainspotting Or The Acid house
Although Rob Roy is always good to see, highlander is too cheesy
Sure there are a few fab folk, been on the big screen either conversing with lord Roberts or fighting the english at Bannockburn.. |

Can't believe Withnail & I has only received one mention!!
Anyway, that, The Wicker Man (the original, of course), 28 Days Later, This Is England... and is Shaun of the Dead technically British? If so, that too! |

I thought the very last line in it was sweet, deep and clever.... but generally disappointed at the film being a bit slow, lacking in grit and missing the chance for some of that oh so clever british dark humour.
Snatch is one of my all time favourite films.
Hard Boiled Sweets was OK.
Rock N Rolla.... you don't get to see Gerard Butler smooching with Tom Hardy in many films, so it's worth it just for that.

Watched Cleanskin last night !! Sean Bean stars with charlotte rampling also.
Really good film, all about suicide bombers in london but a very good story and gives you both perspectives.
Great ending with a good twist too well worth seeing !! |
