Sunset or sunrise?

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing and remote places in the world, and have seen both amazing sunrises and sets.
But personally I prefer to share a sunrise with someone amazing! I just think anyone can witness a sunset without much effort involved and with 100s of other people. I like the egoist and an early morning adventure to get to a terrific spot to witness the new days start.
So I’d like to know your choice and favourite places
UK and international
My favourites are sunrises
UK watching the sunrise over Burbage moor from the top of Higger Tor in the peaks
International from the top of mount Virunga in Rwanda listening to the mountain gorillas somewhere below in the jungle.

True I guess it’s the company and context of being wherever that makes it the favourite. But I do prefer the sunrise x |

I could pick just one, I have many from different parts of the world and thy are all spcial to me for very different reasons.
If I had to choose, it would be the sun rise, the first morning my daughtger was born in Subang, Kuala Lumpur. Simply because this was the first sunrise of my daughters life. |

I like both ends of the day, a love of amateur photography has often found me in daft places at ridiculous times. Sunsets from the North Norfolk coastline are beautiful; sunrises viewed through the ruins of a Northumbrian castle equally so.
I was married at sunset on Hanalei beach in Kauai, that was pretty special (pity the husband turned out not to be) |

I walked up Whernside in the Yorkshire Dales at 5am to catch the sunrise, I sat there for about 40 mins with a flask of coffee...it was very cloudy but then the sun rose and the clouds cleared enough for it to show little beams of sunshine on the valley below...I have some amazing pics of these.
I’ve seen some incredible sunsets abroad but a sunrise always makes my soul soar....

Vegas sunrise is the best ive seen.
donnybrook australia is the best sunset, its mesmerising also because of lack of light pollution the milkyway is as clear as crystal in the sky at night.
However the sunset from the top of the field behind my house is spectacular  |

Sunrise has always been my favourite. There's something about watching the colours, and feeling the warmth of the sun's rays.
One of the best was watching the sun rise from the helipad of a rig in the Med. The colours were gorgeous, the sea was smooth, the night was already warm and there was literally nothing else around.
Otherwise, nothing beats a good cup of tea and watching the sun rise over the horizon from anywhere.

When I was married I lived in the south east and for one of our anniversaries I woke my wife up before the sun rose and drove with her to the east coast to watch the sun rise, I’d packed a breakfast and a blanket and we watched the sun rise across the sea.
We then drive across the country (stopping for a lovely lunch) and spent a day in Devon, culminating with watching the sunset over the sea in Cornwall. It was a lovely day.
Like you OP I have travelled far and wide, but for me there is no finer sunset than that in Somerset (on the levels) |

I’d have to say sunset. I live close to a beach and love taking the kids down of an evening. The sun sets opposite my house too so always see beautiful skies of an evening.
I’m not much of an early bird so haven’t seen many sunrises! |

And yes there’s some stunning places
The sunrise from the sand dunes next to Bamburgh castle is a good one too |
