You criticise speeches by the Queen and the Pope for not mentioning colour - are you implying that all other heads of state and heads of religions have mentioned colour in their recent speeches?

Is there a tick list of subjects to included in each speech?

Are speeches not allowed to be subject specific?

You havnt mentioned climate change, equal pay, modern day sla very in your post - are you to be criticised for your ommisions?

It’s not about different opinions, it’s about the dismissal of liberals and your opinion towards ‘white apologists’, which denotes an attitude of denial of systematic racism. None of which is about opinion but instead about bigotry and intolerance.

If that means that I don’t have your good favour, I welcome that

I couldn't care less about the state or the church, I do think the OP may be looking at all the conspiricies and beginning to look at things which are have no real evidence to back them up, and perhaps is experiencing some existential crisis and could do with talking to a trained professional.

Throwing out statements without explaining anything seems a rather bizarre way of expressing a point or a belief and a way that is likely to fail, especially when being rude to those who then ask follow on questions.

"The Queen said nothing zero about colour in her speech and neither did the Pope. To about 4 billion people.

Do you know why?

No. Why ? Please tell.

Wasn't it me that asked the question ? Yes i know why that's all you need to know

Cool...

You might actually need to prove that knowledge though, otherwise we’re all going to laugh at you

Can't you speak for yourself?"

At great length, with clarity and a degree of eloquence.

Can you?

Or are you only limited to making vague comments and then aggressive dismissals?

OP is the purpose of your thread to educate people about your views? If so, why not share them? Then we can all learn?

I get the feeling that the intent was attention and to create an argument.

"

Im not a simp and i don't dish out false love.

Like it or lump it

Nobody is asking you or anyone else to.

Throwing out statements without explaining anything seems a rather bizarre way of expressing a point or a belief and a way that is likely to fail, especially when being rude to those who then ask follow on questions.

I wish I could like this comment. You don't have to give false love nor do you have to be rude, there are ways to convey your point, without needing to blow smoke up people arses or by being an arse. "

Now I'm blaming this thread to leading me to explore.me profile and not being in her age bracket..That's it I'm out.

I’m rather confused by this thread. So you ask a question, which is a reasonable question to be fair and in the current social environment we’re currently living in is fair enough. But then to have a go at everyone on this thread, with garbled replies that just completely undermine any point you’re trying to make is just odd.

While I agree that more needs to be done to attempt to educate the racial stereotypes and abuse that occurs on a daily basis and needs to stop about 100 years ago, you can’t expect any and every head of state to mention about it in every speech. Also rather confused about when the queen speech might of been, as I think she may be a bit preoccupied grieving for her husband of over 70 years to release a statement supporting BLM or another movement of the same kind?

Ok...I've read most of the replies and the original OP and I'm none the wiser. If the point is the queen and the pope should be mentioning colour or anything else that's devisive my question would be why should they. Why not address your nation, your audience, the human race as one rather than highlighting division and thereby potentially increasing that division.

No what he actually said was

“I only cite these things to show you that in America, the history of the white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery designed to make Negros think that the white liberal was going to solve our problems. Our problems will never be solved by the white man."

Whereas Martin Luther King in his letter from Birmingham Jail (Alabama) was more vexed by white centrists saying they agreed with the civil rights movement but opposed “direct action” (in other words you can have change at a pace we are comfortable with).

Regardless any group in society only achieves sustainable change when they themselves are the architects of that change.

Agreed.

The issue is that the neat little quote is often used as a device against the liberal or left, whereas it’s actually about creating a future on their own and not relying on white Americans. It’s got nothing to do with liberals per se

I would say it has a lot to do with Malcolm X’s opinions of white liberals as he directly cites them in his interview (which I have only quoted a part of), to say that it doesn’t is to ignore his words directly and add false meaning to the narrative, as stated “the history of the white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery....”

Regardless we must agree to disagree I prefer not to interpret a persons words in a way that sheds a positive light on my ethos, rather I accept their words, critical or not, as stated, it is how they felt, to interpret that to suit my own narrative belittles their feelings and experiences of which I must confess, I could not have the knowing of and therefore must accept as their truth.

OP you’ve have added literally nothing to the colour debate..."

On the contrary I think the OP has amply demonstrated that being outraged by something that doesn’t seem to directly impact them, their choices or opportunities, but instead reinforces the need for a “champion” has, conversely led to the opposite of what they set out to achieve.

In my opinion the bravest person that ever lived was Rosa Parks, the woman who dared. I do not “champion” her or seek to fight her cause (though one could argue that equality (for all) should be the cause of all humanity) rather I am in awe of her conviction and belief and know deep down that we’re I to be asked to be that brave, I would be found wanting.

The subject the OP raised is contentious for me because it feels (to me and that’s a personal opinion) to be virtue signalling without actually having any “skin in the game”

Your post has context and value, two things missing from the original post and any subsequent post from the OP.

That is and will always be, your right. But we are not arguing, because an argument must be won and I seek no victory

And that is the strange thing, although the OP was done to stir, perhaps, I have found the conversation intellectually stimulating, rather than upset at their handling of the perceived issue, I am proud of the way that others have enter reasoned and rationale discourse. “The poisoned vine breeds the finer wine” after all
