Today is exactly 60 years since Yuri Gagarin's historic first flight of a man into space. By coincidence, it is also exactly 40 years since the first flight of the Space Shuttle.

Also the anniversary of the 16th space shuttle mission in 1985.

Today is International Cosmonaut Day.

Also anniversary of first non stop flight from London to Paris in 1911. Took three hours 56 minutes.
