Ramadan always brings back happy memories of my uni days. There was four of us sharing a house and one of our housemates was Muslim. As a sign of respect and to help him we would not cook food or eat during daylight hours in the house. At the weekend his parents would visit him and bring loads of food. His mum made the best falafels I have ever tasted. I just wish I had asked for the recipe.

Were the falafels made from two daals and served with coconut chutney
