You know when a song
Jump to: Newest in thread
Hits you so fucking hard in the feels you don't know whether to cry, drop to your knees and thank the universe for allowing something so beautiful to touch your ears, eyes, your motherfucking soul.
Well, I've spent the last few hours watching and deciphering what it means to me.
I already had an affinity with their song "popular monster" but this one has topped it.
I'm in pure awe, cried floods of tears at the beauty of the video and just the pure mastery of it.
If home is where the heart is then my heart has lost all hope. I was immediately transported to the fear and realisation that I was in an abusive relationship and the emptiness that came with it.
And now, well, I'm in one with myself coz I'm struggling to shake the repetitive patterns.
Falling in reverse - I'm not a vampire revamped.
If you've heard the original you won't believe it now. Pure brilliance, pure beauty, pure wake you up to your demons.
https://youtu.be/2nWmBJxW9q0
Feel free to leave your own songs and what they mean to you

Take me to church by Sinead O Connor. It literally stopped me in my tracks when I 1st heard it. I physically felt winded. It was a mixture of emotions, I cried, I felt rage.
I love this song now, I can listen to it without heightened emotions. I loved it then for bringing those emotions out.
Sinead is one serious songwriter with a talent for really connecting her songs and actually living them as she preforms. |

"I totally get it!
I don't know why but this song hits me harder than the ending of Dragon Ball GT
https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ
Can’t believe I fell for this
Did you just get Rick rolled? "
Yes I did for the 8000th time in my life. It triggers me I hate it so much! |

Up the Junction - Squeeze
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQciegmLPAo
Means alot to me as it has always reminded me of my dad
Even more so that it was the song that finally made me ring him to see how he was after a year and a half of not talking after being kicked out by mum. Unfortunatly i found out that day he had tried to commit suicide twice and my Grandparents had not told anyone ellse in the family.
Broke me a bit tbh |

I'm not sure how I kept my composure at his funeral when this played. I could just see him playing his oboe |

I'm a wreck at funerals and their chosen song breaks me, every time.
There's a young Jewish man playing Schindler's List theme in a huge synagogue on YouTube that brings tears to my eyes.

It's Gabriel's Oboe by Ennio Morricone. It was in the film "The Mission" back in the 80s. |

For anyone who's ever been the other woman and found their strength to end things.
And for those of us who were unaware they were the other woman, but we waited, and waited....and then found out the truth

Johnny Cash - I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nH0zVQSf78
This song hits me quite hard aswell for no real reason.
Alot of Johnny Cash stuff is the same for me especially from American IV which is probably one of most listened to albums ever and a most of the songs are pretty emotional
Another one is
Louis Armstrong - What A Wonderful World
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3yCcXgbKrE
Always reminds me of my Grandad and also Mr Trebus from Life of Grime

I have had several that sucker punch me during difficult times in my life. The opening line of blowers daughter "and so it is, just like you said it would be" still gets to me a bit. Tracy Chapmans The Promise. Cold play fix you brought me to a complete standstill one day, had to pull over as I was in floods of tears on the side of the road but what a release that was! So powerful. Music and lyrics are amazing in how they lift us, trip us up but mostly heal us in the long run. Thank you for this thread. |

I had a moment on the M25.
I can't even remember the song, it all happened so fast but I'm sure it was connected with my Dad who'd died a couple of months earlier.
I was overcome with grief and the past history I had with my Dad.
I couldn't stop, I couldn't pull over but that moment is imprinted on my mind. |

Love this song. It was in city of angels and I also love iris by the googoo dolls.
"I don't want the world to see me, cause I don't think that they'd understand,
When everything's made to be broken,
I just want you to know who I am"
Such powerful lyrics |

"If I need to cry but I am too angry to give in I put Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues on
Guaranteed to tip me over into release "
I can't listen to that anymore. It was one of the songs my ex played to me and the story behind it was when he got married he wanted it as their wedding song but she point blank refused and chose something he hated and didn't connect with at all. There was of course, talk of getting it right next time, with me.
Hahahaha fucking dick head believing a word of it. |
