Is it just me or do women not send many first messages on here?
I see a lot of ladies saying they have hundreds of messages.
Should men stop sending as many messages, or should ladies send out more, or both? |

The number of men on here outweighs the number of women, so the messages men get tend to be few and far between.
It's up to women how many messages they send. As for men, in my opinion they should send out as many as they want to as long as they are relevant and respectful. When you hear women saying they get a vast number of messages, most of the ones they receive are just not worth reading. |

I haven't had a message in three months.
I hardly ever send them at all either, though. Given how much thought I put into every single one, it doesn't seem worth the effort given the likelihood of them getting lost in the deluge of hundreds of "FAF" messages. |

I’m not that active on here, and not meeting at the moment so it doesn’t bother me too much. But spending time reading through profiles and then writing individual messages, knowing it’s going to be sat in a pile of 500 other messages doesn’t give you much hope. |

Single girls probably have hundreds but 99% of them they probably delete anyway...so it’s not that you’d probably have a greater choice the more messages you get, you’d just spend more time having to do FAB admin...

Easier said than done. I could write the solution to world hunger in my first message but if they don't find that interesting or they don't find me attractive, I'm not going to get a reply. That's even if they see my message among the hundreds of "Faf" messages they receive.
You could read their profile to see what they like but if you say "Oh you like that thing do you? I like that thing too, let's talk" then you could argue that's not very interesting either. I rather just work on my own profile and if women like it, they're free to send a message |

I've taken a different tack - I've blocked my inbox from being messaged by single guys as I tend to get messages lacking any thought or consideration.
I look at profiles and if the guy may
meet what I'm looking for, with well-written text and no cock pics, I'll fab a pic. If I receive a fab back, I'll wink, thereby "breaking the seal".
Unfortunately this is a rare occurrence due to the amount of guys on here who, in my humble opinion, take no pride in how they present themselves and just expect that they will get some form of action with very little effort 
I'm sorry to hear that you don't get any response when you've taken the time to read and respond individually to a lady's profile, you are a rarity on here. Good luck! |

I get the occasional one or two, normally full of fanny pictures and text speak, or a resounding telling off for something I couldn’t possible confess to having done. Being single and being on fab is like being married, I get lots of unwanted “advice” on how I should live my life and if I get too big for my boots there’s always someone willing to put me in my place. |

In my case, I don't send messages as my insecurities get the better of me. So I hope that if someone is interested in me they'll message me and I can reply. Probably not the best way to be on a site like this, but I'm fairly new to this. |

difficult to generalize I guess
I always answer the messages I get, rude not to... always say thank you for compliments and so on.
I tend to only "cold call" messages to the ladies coz it feels... wrong... to strike up uninvited conversations with guys due to the way I was raised.

*I don't want to speak to them with the intention of meeting, coz I'm not looking for that at the mo.
*I don't want 1-1 convos. Too much pressure to respond in a timely fashion. I'll talk to a few I know won't take it personally if I don't reply for days.
*If they seem to be having a big ole flirt with others I don't see the point, let em crack on. I'm not at the stage where I'm enthusiastic about anything so feel like I'd be taking up attention that would be more fruitful spending on someone else.

I can imagine from comments I've seen that a lot of women get quite a few messages a day, maybe after reading/replying, hitting the search box doesn't come to mind? Or that they just don't need to? |

I get a trickle of messages in comparison to what women get! I haven't sent an icebreaker message in a long while but women do send them and better at it than I am !! |
