There is also a large scope for coincidence.

Any evidence of this predictive ability?

Humans are good at finding patterns where none exist and assigning meaning to them

What has been proposed by that book is very vague. Nothing has ever been predicted in advance by that book.

Somebody said they could come up with the same results from any book of similar length, and he did, using Moby Dick.

Confirmation bias.

If you look hard enough you can find evidence of anything in a sufficiently large enough body of text.

People want to see the predictions in these places as it proves the validity of those texts, the bible is just one such example.

In short it’s just people trying desperately to see patterns where none exist

I remember someone trying to find hidden meaning in the manuscripts of Plato. Got (for that field) a lot of attention.

The patterns held up - if you forget that the texts we have are absolutely not the originals. (Which is sort of a first principle consideration)

Didn't the Simpsons also predict the twin towers.

Revelation:

13,16-It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and not free, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,

13,17-so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
