£16 per hour fitting trunking and cat5e data cables. 10 hour day and running up and down stairs, and standing all day. And getting paid extra for weekends.
Own tools and cscs card needed
Id do it but have early osteoarthritis and is it worth fucking my health up. |

Generally I find running Cat5e an easy job, but it depends where you're running it. If you're cabling at 2nd fix then it'll be a doddle, if you're wiring an old building with limited access, then it can be an absolute pain in the arse.
Trunking is a whole other question, if it's just a bit of maxi for containing the cat 5 then it's not too bad, but if you're installing Dado-Trunking around a room for the electrics to go in too then that is a more skilled job (if it's going to be tidy) and the Sparky should be doing it...

If you need your own tools and a CSCS card, in all probability it's not an employed job. You will be self employed. That means tax, Ni, transport, public liability insurance, tools will have to be taken into account when looking at that £16 per hour. £16 an hour when your self employed is rubbish. |

It’ll be contracting. They will be on price so if the dead line is pushing out you’ll put the hours in. Kroning 100’s of data points isn’t something I miss, cross eyes is certain |

Yes that's what I was thinking.. I'll pay for it later in life with reduced cartilage now it'll get worse.. I was told it's physically demanding and long hours |

If you are out of work, maybe consider taking it temporarily while you look for other work. Sometimes easier to get another job while you are still working and you will be learning new skills while you are there. |
