I love this programe, i also enjoy Line of Duty but Unforgotten is almost the opposite of it.
The actors are great, especially Sanjeev Baskar and Nicola Walker. I i love the theme music too.
Anyone else like Unforgotten ? |

It was upsetting when Cassie died, it will need a strong character to fill her space. I had been told it will be Suranne Jones although I'd prefer Lesley Sharp. |

If you like Line of Duty.. BBC4 is screening Between the Lines...
Damn good series about police corruption from the early 90's.
Those with iplayer are lucky as they are putting them on there too. Highly recommended. |

I love Unforgotten and sorry to see Nicola Walker call it a day but she has also been filming the TV series Annika that she has played in the radio 4 drama (as a Swedish detective)
I cannot for the life of me get into the new LOD series. It doesn’t seem to flow |

I was hoping to find out if it was worth watching
Maybe I will start a thread about Murder on the Orient Express and Darth and Luke and spoil those for everyone |

"Is it a girlie series then, that's what I'm trying to understand? "
No, not girlie. It's a crime series, Nicola Walker plays a detective. It's very well written, produced and acted. It does include their private, home life too. |

My brother delivered to Sanjeev last week said he was lovely "
Dammit! Some people have all the luck! I would have really embarrassed myself, fawning all over him! |

I really like it. I've especially loved this last series. In fact, each series has seemed better than the last. Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar are really good. Her character especially just got more and more interesting (and troubled) with each passing series. I think one of the things that makes it stand out from other shows of a similar ilk for me is its concept and structure. It's not just another cold case whodunit show. You know early on who the guilty parties are (sort of like Columbo but much more vague on the ultimate culprit). The entertainment is then watching the police go after them and seeing their stories slowly begin to unravel as long buried truths are revealed. I'm already looking forward to the next series.
And as others have said, the theme tune is also really good. It sounds like one of those moody atmospheric pieces you'd hear in a Nordic Noir. It's always reminded me of the theme song for The Bridge. |

This final series was outstanding. Nearly every character unravelling in some way. That flower-laying scene at the end had me in tears.

The way they did that final scene with just the voiceover worked really well (probably I'm guessing because they were restricted from filming that sort of scene like they might normally do). Just hearing him giving the reading (as opposed to seeing it) felt much more personal and moving. It brought a tear to my eye that's for sure. |

Great series, good acting and very well balanced story, even normal human shortcomings which brings a grounded reality to the show.
My guess is Sanjeev Baskar may take over from Cassie. He's played a very good side kick even leading sometimes. Think he'd be a good replacement. His eulogy was fitting and possibly his introduction to the lead role.
Waiting in anticipation to the potential of more series too. |

I think Phaldut Sharma played a very convincing victim role of racism throughout with his colleagues, his brother, his girlfriend a former ex and even in the end convinced the others had shopped on him. |

I really like Unforgotten. It’s a shame that Nicola Walker has left, I really liked the relationship between Sunny and Cassie.
I did feel that Cassie's death did detract from the solving of the murder. Usually the final episode is focused on ‘who dunnit’ but it almost seemed irrelevant in the light of what was going on with Cassie. |

Yes i think that's true although I think it was brilliant still.
I had gone sleep and missed the end of the previous episode, hubby said i needed to watch it so i did. It was shocking. All through the last episode i was expecting her to recover. I was shocked by the ending |
