A lie is a lie is a lie,

The reasons for using a lie makes the morality of it debatable and nobody will ever agree on that.

4 pints of milk is £1.18 at Tesco's but its not the answer to the question so putting your name is is totally irrelevant to the question.

after reading more threads n playing catch up, i would say a lie isnt a lie when you believe it yourself?

To some they do not see a difference between reality and imagination. They don't see things as a lie at all in their mind. On most forums you find some very lonely people who are desperate to impress others.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Everyone lies at some point about something. That doesn't stop it being a lie. If it intended to deceive then the depth of that deceit and the hurt it causes is what matters.

No, it does not make it right to tell lies - I d still argue as I said on the other thread that sometimes what appears to be a lie is about miscommunication and/or different perceptions and interpretations of an event.

I take a kind of laid back approach to the concept of black and white truth/lie - I have seen too many people caught up in situations where nobody lied but because people made assumptions that somebody had it caused family problems.
